About the Organization: The Interfaith Public Health Network (IPHN) mobilizes faith leaders and communities to engage in public health policy, with a particular focus on food systems, nutrition, and industry accountability. Through convening, coalition-building, and advocacy, the organization works to influence the underlying drivers of health at local, state, and national levels. Position Summary: The Director of Programming and Partnership Development creates and facilitates programs, offerings, and resource development for faith communities and the broader public on behalf of IPHN, that will lead to advocacy engagement and enhance the health of the people IPHN serves. She/he will strengthen opportunities for collaboration between faith communities and public health professionals. She/he will also assist in supporting operational leadership of IPHN, and provide leadership in the field of her/his area of expertise at the intersection of faith and public health. This is a part-time position at 15 hours/week. Primary Responsibilities Co-lead strategic development of programs, projects, and events with the Director of Policy and Advocacy. Develop engaging programs in partnership with stakeholders and IPHN staff that achieve projected outcomes. Work with IPHN advisory board and staff members to advance IPHN’s strategic plan. Oversee the development and refinement of programmatic initiatives to support the strategic plan of ongoing projects and workflows. Engage IPHN partners to oversee the process of designing and delivering programs Develop a communication and partnership strategy to manage key partner relationships. Meet with national and global faith leaders and food systems stakeholders and organizations. Cultivate and nurture new partner relationships with key leaders in institutions of higher learning, congregations, organizations, established and emerging scholars, funders, and potential programmatic partners. Implement effective processes to ensure faith communities most impacted by an issue are represented in the policy issues IPHN advocates for. Serve on committees with relevance to the intersection of faith and public health topics. Serve as a consulting liaison to partner organizations and maintain stakeholder relationships across different regions, perspectives, demographic groups and perspectives. Facilitate and lead discussions about the intersection between public health topics and faith teachings with faith communities and the public. Coordinate educational webinars and write articles for IPHN blog, IPHN newsletter, and local or national publications. Assist in event and logistics planning that advance programmatic initiatives. Attend workshops, seminars, or conferences to obtain program ideas, information or resources and potential collaboration and engagement opportunities. Participate in denominational activities aimed at IPHN goals, such as promoting interfaith understanding or social justice activities. Conduct research and remain aware of sector developments in order to enhance the effectiveness of educational programs. Conduct outreach to potential funders to foster collaborative relationships and identify funding opportunities. Other responsibilities as needed. The Ideal Candidate You are a strategic, collaborative leader with experience in public health, faith communities, and partnership development. They are a strong communicator and facilitator who can build relationships, lead engaging programs and events, and connect diverse stakeholders around shared goals. They are mission-driven, committed to equity and inclusion, and comfortable managing multiple priorities, working independently, and representing IPHN with partners across sectors and communities. Specific Experience Requested: We recognize that each applicant for this role will bring unique skills, knowledge, experiences, and background to this position, lending his/her/their flair to the trajectory of the Director of Programming and Partnership Development role. We welcome diverse experiences and perspectives in our applicant pool, and will be looking for candidates who possess many, but not necessarily all, of the following qualifications and experience: Master of Public Health degree or equivalent Relevant credential i.e. Registered Dietitian Ordination or profession in a particular religious tradition preferred At least 8 years of management experience Ability to learn and utilize Microsoft Office, Zoom, NationBuilder, and Asana Experience presenting to faith-based audiences Must possess a commitment to the health and well-being of the public and of working with faith communities in particular. Commitment to advancing the public’s health, ideally from a faith/spiritual perspective Proven commitment to equity, inclusion, diversity, and anti-racism. Willing to travel and conduct occasional work outside normal working hours (weekends and after-hour events) as needed. Knowledge of and experience working with an extensive network of stakeholders across geographies, sectors, demographic groups and perspectives. Experience with IPHN. Workplace, Compensation & Application Workplace & Travel: All employees work from home offices with occasional travel (1-2 times per year) for all-team in-person meetings.
