Valiant is seeking a Director of Security & FSO to provide leadership, oversight, and operational support across the organization’s security program. This position will lead and develop an existing team of security professionals while supporting the execution of personnel, industrial, physical, and program security requirements across classified contracts and sensitive programs. The Director of Security must be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, rapid response environment where priorities may shift quickly based on mission, contractual, customer, or security requirements. The successful candidate will combine strong security leadership experience with hands-on knowledge of National Industrial Security Program requirements, Special Access Programs (SAP), classified contract administration, safeguarding, personnel security, and stakeholder engagement. This hybrid position requires a combination of remote and in-office support, with travel as mission requirements dictate. Key Responsibilities: Provide day-to-day leadership, direction, mentorship, and oversight to an established team of security professionals supporting multiple classified programs, contracts, facilities, and customers. Establish priorities, distribute workload, monitor performance, and ensure security requirements are executed accurately, consistently, and within required timelines. Operate effectively within a rapid-response and quick-reaction environment, addressing emerging security requirements, incidents, customer requests, program changes, and mission-critical actions with appropriate urgency. Review, develop, issue, administer, and maintain DD 254s for prime contracts and subcontracts, including interpretation and flow-down of applicable security requirements. Support Facility Security Officer (FSO) responsibilities and National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) compliance activities. Support Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO) responsibilities associated with Special Access Programs and other sensitive or compartmented efforts. Coordinate and support personnel security activities, including clearance processing, eligibility and access verification, indoctrinations, debriefings, reporting requirements, visit certifications, and other personnel security actions. Support physical security requirements, including classified work areas, access controls, inspections, safeguarding requirements, and implementation of appropriate physical security measures. Manage and oversee safeguarding activities for classified material, including accountability, storage, handling, transmission, reproduction, destruction, and associated security procedures. Support the organization's Insider Threat Program in collaboration with the Insider Threat Program Senior Official (ITPSO), including identification, assessment, escalation, documentation, and mitigation of potential insider threat indicators. Assist with security incident management, preliminary inquiries, reporting requirements, corrective actions, and coordination with appropriate internal and government stakeholders. Maintain and administer security information using DISS, NISS, ACCS, and other applicable government security databases, portals, and information systems. Support classified contract onboarding, security requirements analysis, contract transitions, facility changes, and program start-up or closeout activities. Coordinate with program managers, business line and functional support leaders, and executive leadership to ensure security requirements are integrated into business and program operations. Build and maintain productive relationships with government customers and external partners and stakeholders Support security assessments, self-inspections, audits, corrective action plans, policies, procedures, and continuous process improvement initiatives. Identify security risks, operational gaps, and emerging requirements and develop practical solutions that protect classified information while supporting successful mission execution. Support security education, awareness, briefings, and training as required. Travel to company, customer, program, or government locations as necessary, up to approximately 10%. Other duties as assigned. Demonstrated experience serving in a security leadership, FSO, or senior security management position. Active TS/SCI clearance Minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated experience supporting Special Access Programs (SAP) Strong working knowledge of industrial, personnel, physical, and program security disciplines. Working knowledge of applicable NISPOM, DoD, SAP, and government security requirements. Demonstrated experience using DISS, NISS, ACCS, and other government security databases, portals, or security management systems. Experience managing safeguarding requirements for classified information and materials. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership, government customers, program managers, employees, and other internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion when handling classified, sensitive, proprietary, and personnel-related information. Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple competing requirements in a high-tempo, deadline-driven, quick-reaction environment. Ability to work independently while also leading and collaborating across multifunctional teams. Ability to travel up to 10%. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience supporting Intelligence Community customers or programs. Experience supporting multiple classified contracts, facilities, or business areas simultaneously. Experience supporting growth initiatives, to include proposal support. Experience supporting classified program transitions, facility activations or closures, contract start-up, or other complex security operations. Experience developing or improving enterprise security policies, procedures, workflows, metrics, and compliance programs. Experience working directly with senior government security officials and executive-level corporate stakeholders. Work Environment This position operates in a hybrid environment with a combination of remote and in-office responsibilities. The Director of Security must maintain sufficient flexibility to provide on-site support when required by classified operations, safeguarding requirements, customer needs, security incidents, meetings, inspections, or other mission-driven activities. The position requires a responsive and mission-focused approach, including the ability to adapt to emerging requirements and provide timely security leadership during urgent or high-priority situations.
