Description This position is available to any Huntington Corporate office location. Summary: We are seeking a talented and ambitious Director Level Portfolio Manager III to support growing Project Finance and Infrastructure (“ PFI ”) team. The PFI Underwriting and Portfolio Management organization is responsible for working with internal partners to underwrite new transactions and manage the existing portfolio of project finance loans. The PFI team at the Huntington Bank, N.A. provides a broad range of equity and debt arrangement for large-scale, capital-intensive projects across the full infrastructure spectrum: power, renewable energy, energy related assets, midstream and infrastructure including Public Private Partnership (“P3”). The PFI line of business is a crucial new growth strategy for Huntington Bank’s Structured Finance group and will offer the banker the opportunity to play a critical role in building and evolving this growth business. The position requires working closely with clients, Relationship Managers and Credit Department to underwrite and build a high-quality p roject f inance portfolio. The Portfolio Manager III is a senior position and takes a leadership position manag ing all aspects of due diligence in credit underwriting, financial modeling, approval, execution as well as documentation. The PM also conducts post-closing operational and contractual activities and is responsible for safeguarding the operational and financial performance of the renewable energy projects financed by HNB. Detailed knowledge of renewable energy projects design, functioning, and operations & maintenance (O&M), power purchase agreement and a strong understanding of renewable energy project finance is required. Duties and Responsibilities: Execute high quality underwritings , refinancings and amendments, including extensive due diligence, recommendations around structure, pricing and capital allocation, and application of credit policy in order to develop solutions that meet client needs while maintaining appropriate risk acceptance criteria. Provides an independent, in-depth analysis of financial statements, valuation, projections including stress tests, industry and competitive dynamics, business plans and key risks and mitigants. Manages a portfolio of clients and owns the overall quality and on-time completion of all annual reviews, renewals, amendments/waivers, ancillary credit product approvals and quarterly risk ratings. Maintains knowledge mastery of each client, the segment of the energy industry in which it operates and the competitive environment within the industry as a whole . Produces recommendations around active portfolio management solutions in order to minimize credit losses, and effectively manages and presents watchlist clients. Effectively negotiates and ensures that legal documentation related to credit events incorporates terms and conditions as approved in strict accordance with all elements reflected in credit package/closing memo. Effectively coordinates and communicates with internal/external counsel. Directors will be assigned to a larger portfolio with more complex names (lead clients, leveraged profiles, high-touch or sensitive relationships, more challenging financings). Actively involved in the training, and mentoring of Associate Directors , Associates and Analysts as well as the performance review process for A nalysts. Must deliver solid credit analyses and risk rating recommendations, demonstrate a high level of critical thinking skills, maintain both attention to detail and an understanding of the big picture, and communicate effectively both internally and externally. Basic Qualifications : Bachelors degree preferably in finance, economics, or accounting with high academic achievement. 7+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: underwriting, credit, or portfolio management in Project Finance for power and renewables sector and competence in Financial Modeling . Preferred Qualifications: Strong knowledge and understanding of corporate banking credits, cash flow analysis, and underwriting guidelines . In-depth knowledge of US Project Finance industry. Strong knowledge and understanding of corporate banking credits, cash flow analysis, and underwriting guidelines . ​​​​ MBA, CFA (or progressing to the Charter) or CPA is desirable. Ability to thoroughly analyze credits on an independent basis and communicate findings in a concise manner. Experience working in a regulated financial institution setting with a demonstrated strong understanding of organizational lending and portfolio management policies and objectives. Displays advanced deal execution and/or project management skills - ability to manage more than one client / major initiative . Ability to create and deliver professional presentations. Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy. Compensation Range: $93,000 - $217,000 Annual Salary The compensation range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base compensation range for this position.
