As a Director - Quantum within the Construction Advisory (Claims & Disputes) practice , you will lead the delivery of high-profile, high-value dispute and advisory engagements across global infrastructure, energy, industrial, and construction projects. You will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, legal counsel, and project stakeholders, providing strategic guidance on complex claims, dispute resolution, quantum, and commercial matters. The Director will be responsible for driving practice growth, developing client relationships at executive level, providing technical leadership on major engagements, and mentoring multidisciplinary teams across EMEA, APAC, and other international markets. The role requires recognized industry credibility, strong commercial acumen, and experience supporting formal dispute resolution proceedings including arbitration, adjudication, litigation, mediation, and expert witness assignments. Job Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Engagement Oversight Lead and oversee complex, high-value construction claims and dispute engagements from inception through resolution. Provide executive-level guidance on dispute strategy, commercial risk, entitlement, causation, and quantum. Direct multidisciplinary teams delivering quantum assessments (Including loss of profit/Profitability/Production), commercial evaluations, and expert support assignments. Act as engagement sponsor for major commissions, ensuring technical excellence, profitability, and client satisfaction. Provide technical review and sign-off on key deliverables and expert reports. Dispute Resolution & Expert Support Lead the development of claims strategies and dispute resolution approaches for major projects globally. Direct the preparation and review of Quantum related expert reports, rebuttal reports, witness statements, and arbitration submissions. Support clients, legal counsel, and experts throughout arbitration, adjudication, mediation, litigation, and settlement negotiations. Provide authoritative interpretation of complex contract provisions including FIDIC, NEC, EPC, EPCM, bespoke, and other international forms of contract. Advise on dispute avoidance, early intervention strategies, and commercial risk mitigation. Client Relationship Management Serve as a trusted advisor to senior client representatives, legal teams, insurers, funders, and project executives. Build and maintain long-term client relationships that generate recurring opportunities and strategic partnerships. Lead presentations, workshops, and executive briefings on complex dispute issues. Contribute to client account planning and key account management initiatives. Maintain visibility within industry forums, legal networks, and professional organisations. Business Development & Practice Growth Drive revenue growth through originating, pursuing, and securing new dispute advisory opportunities. Lead proposal development, commercial negotiations, and fee arrangements for major engagements. Develop strategic market initiatives and identify emerging opportunities across targeted sectors and regions. Contribute to thought leadership through publications, conference presentations, webinars, and industry events. Support expansion of the practice's service offerings and geographic footprint. Team Leadership & Capability Development Lead, mentor, and develop managers, consultants, and technical specialists within the practice. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence. Support recruitment, succession planning, and talent development initiatives. Establish and maintain quality assurance standards across all engagement deliverables. Champion knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the disputes practice. Required Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Law, or a related discipline. 18+ years of experience in construction claims, disputes, forensic scheduling, project controls, commercial management, or dispute resolution consulting. Demonstrated leadership of major dispute engagements involving infrastructure, energy, industrial, or large-scale construction projects. Extensive experience preparing and reviewing EOT, disruption, prolongation, acceleration, and quantum claims. Strong understanding of FIDIC, NEC, EPC, EPCM, and other international standard forms of contract. Proven experience working alongside legal counsel and supporting formal dispute resolution proceedings. Strong commercial acumen and experience managing complex client engagements. Exceptional report writing, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Master's degree in Construction Law, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Project Controls, or a related field. Professional qualifications such as MRICS, FRICS, MCIArb, PMP, PSP, FAACE, CCC, or equivalent. Experience serving in expert witness, lead expert support, or testifying expert team environments. Significant experience across Middle East, Europe, Asia-Pacific, or other international markets. Established network within construction, legal, insurance, or dispute resolution sectors.
