Role Description

Your role will involve designing, developing, and overseeing the implementation of electrical systems in various construction projects. You will be responsible for ensuring that electrical systems meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards while optimizing energy efficiency, reliability, and sustainability. You will also stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and code requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and analyze electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, grounding, and low-voltage systems.
• Design electrical systems for commercial, residential, and industrial facilities in accordance with U.S. standards.
• Prepare electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, layouts, and technical specifications.
• Perform load calculations, voltage drop calculations, short-circuit analysis, and panel schedules using industry-standard software.
• Select and size electrical equipment including transformers, switchgear, panelboards, generators, UPS systems, and lighting fixtures.
• Design lighting, emergency power, fire alarm, and low-current systems where applicable.
• Ensure compliance with applicable U.S. codes and standards such as NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and energy codes.
• Coordinate with mechanical, structural, and architectural teams to ensure proper system integration.
• Review shop drawings and provide technical support during project execution.
• Apply value engineering principles to optimize energy efficiency, system performance, and lifecycle costs.
• Assist in preparing complete electrical engineering packages and ensuring timely project delivery.
• Maintain organized documentation and comply with internal QA/QC procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Strong command of English.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical design, MEP coordination, and building services.
• Minimum 3 years of experience using AutoCAD.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and remotely.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of national electrical standards and codes.
• Familiarity with value engineering and permitting processes is a plus.
• Familiarity with American codes and Revit is a plus.
• Experience with electrical design software such as ETAP, SKM, DIALux, or AGi32 is a plus.
• Preferred: Current or former university teaching staff member.
• FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) exam passed is a preferred qualification.
