Job Summary The EAP Consultant serves as a trusted resource for Mass General Brigham employees and their household members, providing clinical assessment, short-term counseling, referrals, case management, and follow-up support. In addition to direct services, this role delivers organizational consultation and training, leads employee awareness initiatives, builds community and provider partnerships, and manages high-impact projects and committees. Working with a high degree of autonomy, the consultant acts as a strategic liaison to assigned entities and applies strong leadership, relationship-building, and project management skills to promote employee well-being and organizational success. Essential Functions -Offers confidential behavioral health assessments, short-term counseling, crisis intervention, referrals, and follow-up support to employees and their household members. -Adheres to standard procedures, ensuring confidentiality, ethical conduct, and timely documentation for program evaluation. -Acts as a liaison between clients and supervisors with permission, and consults with managers and HR on employee or workgroup issues. -Works closely with Occupational Health, Employee Relations, and HR to address employee concerns and coordinate care. -Maintains and updates a network of internal and external referral resources to ensure high-quality support for clients. -Delivers orientations, well-being trainings, and workshops to promote EAP services and workplace mental health. -Participates in EAP organizations and ongoing training to stay current with best practices and regulations. -Develop EAP training and work independently, recognizing when to seek consultation, and inform EAP management of complex clinical and administrative issues. Qualifications Education Master's Degree Social Work required Master's Degree Counseling required Master's Degree Related Field of Study required Licenses and Credentials Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker [LICSW - State License] required Licensed Mental Health Counselor [LMHC - State License] required Experience 2-3 years experience in providing counseling services, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting, and experience in an Employee Assistance Program required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams while maintaining confidentiality - Crisis intervention skills - Advanced clinical assessment including alcohol/drug assessment and intervention - Clinical measurement tools - Staff support following a critical incident - Short-term counseling - Motivational interviewing - Referral - Client follow-up - Public speaking Hybrid Working Model Requirements Hybrid with onsite work required in office 3 days/wk at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Mass General Hospital M-F Eastern business hours required On remote workdays, employees must use a stable, secure, and compliant workstation in a quiet environment.
