Early Career Civil Engineer

We are currently seeking an Early Career Civil Engineer to support our Oak Ridge, TN office. Position Summary The Early Career Civil Engineer will be responsible for providing, design, permitting, and execution of land development projects across commercial, industrial, and institutional sectors under the direction of a Senior Civil Engineer. Technical & Design: Design of site development projects, including grading, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, erosion and sediment control, and roadway access Prepare civil engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, and construction documents Ensuring designs comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, codes, and standards Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET Accredited university Minimum of 0-5 years of experience in civil engineering with a focus on site development Experience with stormwater management design and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling Proficiency with relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, StormCAD, HydroCAD, or similar) desired but not required Excellent written and verbal communication skills Sole US citizenship required (to comply with government customer requirements and/or applicable government regulations) Work Location This position is designed to support either in-office or remote work, with a strong preference for the successful candidate to work from Amentum's office in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Employees who reside within 50 miles of Oak Ridge will be expected to work from the Oak Ridge office. Employees who live more than 50 miles away are eligible for a remote work arrangement; however, remote employees must travel to the Oak Ridge office on a quarterly basis. Those working remotely are required to maintain a company-approved secure workspace that meets all client security requirements and is located within the United States. This U.S.-based secure work location requirement applies to all projects associated with the position. Essential Functions: Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc. Longest distance carried of 50 feet. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same. No foot controls necessary. Must be alert to equipment in the field, there will be occasional travel, will work near construction job site equipment when in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights. Compensation Details: $70,000 - $120,000 The compensation range or hourly rate listed for this position is provided as a good-faith estimate of what the company intends to offer for this role at the time this posting was issued.
