Permanent full-time opportunity, 35 hours per week Based in Queanbeyan or another NSW location by negotiation, with hybrid working supported Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $112,375 to $124,158 pa + super Our Knowledge team is currently seeking to appoint an Ecohydrologist to provide ecohydrological and spatial data analysis, ecological response modelling, and data management that supports the delivery of environmental water programs across NSW. This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply scientific expertise to inform evidence-based decisions that improve outcomes for rivers, wetlands and floodplain ecosystems. Working within the Water for the Environment Branch, you will contribute to environmental water use planning and programs through scientific inquiry, including the analysis of hydrological and ecological data. You will develop and apply ecohydrological models, support environmental assessments, manage complex datasets and prepare technical reports for a range of stakeholders. Joining a collaborative and science-focused team, you will work alongside specialists who are passionate about delivering innovative solutions that support the sustainable management of NSW's water-dependent environments. About You You are a motivated environmental scientist with experience analysing ecological or hydrological datasets and translating complex information into practical insights. You bring strong technical capability in one or more areas such as hydrological analysis, GIS, remote sensing, data management, ecological modelling or programming using Python or R. You enjoy investigating complex environmental challenges, applying scientific rigour to your work, and using evidence to support decision-making and environmental outcomes. You are an organised and adaptable professional who can manage competing priorities while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and quality. With strong communication and collaboration skills, you build effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, present technical information clearly to diverse audiences, and contribute positively to a supportive team environment.
