To respond to the growing unmet needs in emergencies and to strengthen the speed, quality, relevance and appropriateness of our emergency response and readiness work, we are investing in our humanitarian deployable capacity including through the Roster. Plan International Roster Plan International is looking to grow our pool of experienced Emergency Response Specialists to lead Plan International’s humanitarian programming as part of our Emergency Roster. Members of our roster are specialists in their field and have the skills and expertise to be deployed to a humanitarian response anywhere in the world, generally up to a maximum period of three months. Successful applicants will be added to our roster of Education in Emergencies Specialists and contacted for deployment opportunities. Whilst being a member of the roster is not paid you will receive a salary as well as ‘per diem’, accommodation and travel costs whilst deployed. We build a close relationship with Roster Members, with access to online humanitarian courses and regular engagement to ensure Roster Members receive benefits to being on the roster both when deployed and when not deployed. The Deployment Manager will regularly reach out to Roster Members for updates on their availability and access to online courses and tools About You The Education in Emergencies Specialist provides technical support to Plan International’s education response and programming in a specific crisis. You will ensure all work is in line with Plan International’s Global Strategy, that gender equality is core to our response and that Plan International is seen as to the go to agency for girls in emergencies. With technical expertise in Education in Emergencies, you will strengthen the capacity of Plan International front-line teams and partners who are responding to emergencies in a crisis affected country and/or Region. You will ensure alignment with INEE Minimum standards and other global humanitarian standards (CPHA, CHS, etc) Education Cluster’s response plans, national education plans, as well as Plan International’s global EiE work and key cross cutting priorities including child protection, gender and inclusion. You will lead and support rapid Education Needs Assessments and Multi-Sector Needs Assessments (MSNAs) to identify urgent education needs. Identify and engage potential local and national partners, and ensure the effective planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring, and evaluation of Plan's integrated education response. Deliver high-quality education programming that addresses the education and wellbeing needs of children, adolescents, and youth in all their diversity, while supporting learning continuity in humanitarian and emergency settings. Experienced in networking, you will support colleagues to represent plan at relevant EiE coordination mechanisms and platforms, and coordinate and/ or contribute to the Education Cluster response plans and advocacy and alignment with National Education plans and policies/ You will have significant experience of working in a variety of different humanitarian crises and contexts, and of implementing first line education response, safe inclusive quality education programmes, integration with other sectors including child protection, CVA, food security and nutrition. Ideally you will be bilingual in English plus either French or Spanish and any other languages are an advantage. For this call we will be prioritising Spanish speaking roster members for possible deployment to the Venezuela response and prompt application is encouraged. You will have a proven track record securing funding from public and private funding streams and managing EiE portfolios. You will demonstrate strong team management experience resulting in high performing teamwork. You will be committed to ensuring safeguarding and Prevention of Sexual Harassment, Exploitation and Abuse is core to our ways of working. You are strong in problem solving and focused on achieving results to impact positively on girls and boys affected by crises. It is expected that Roster Members would have done a HEAT or other equivalent security training in the past 3 years.
