Why Your Role Matters: An Educational Designer/Developer plays a key role within the Technology Enabled Learning Support (TELS) team in the Learning and Teaching Group (LTG) by providing leadership and strategic thinking in the development and implementation of innovative learning practices. LTG covers a broad range of support from educational development, design, technology, innovation, analytics, development for staff, and learning and wellbeing support for students across the Faculty. The role entails promoting educational excellence through conducting rigorous quality assurance processes, delivering learning and teaching development and resources, and designing and developing quality learning activities, modules, programs and courses in collaboration with academic staff to achieve learning and teaching strategies at UNSW Canberra. This is an exciting opportunity to influence learning and teaching innovation across the Faculty. Working closely with academic staff and subject matter experts, you will design and develop engaging, high-quality learning experiences that enhance student outcomes and support strategic educational priorities. The role requires strong stakeholder engagement, a collaborative approach, and the ability to apply contemporary pedagogical practices and educational technologies to curriculum design and development. You will contribute to quality assurance initiatives, provide professional development and advice to educators, and help drive continuous improvement in learning and teaching through research, analysis, and evidence-based practice. The role reports to the Manager, Education Support, supporting the Head of Student Life and Experience. Accountabilities: Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience. Work collaboratively with Faculty and subject matter experts to design and develop undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum, incorporating effective delivery strategies using engaging and accessible content formats, constructively aligning learning activities, assessments and feedback. Design and develop quality online learning activities, modules, programs and courses in collaboration with academic staff, using proven pedagogical learning and teaching strategies to ensure improved learning and teaching outcomes in the Faculty. Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders through consultation and provision of advice on teaching, planning and activities toward developing and implementing innovative teaching strategies. Sound stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior management and liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes. Proven ability to collate and analyse data to support quality assurance initiatives, including identifying trends, generating reports, and providing actionable insights to improve learning and teaching processes and outcomes. Experience working with a range of computer systems and applications, including Microsoft Suite, Moodle, Turnitin and Echo360. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, while effectively self-managing workload, taking initiative and working independently to manage multiple tasks and prioritise competing demands.
