Position Summary The Simulation Program Coordinator facilitates, coordinates, and evaluates academic and external healthcare education programs at the Learning and Assessment Center. Reporting to the Executive Director, the coordinator will work with a diverse population of students, faculty, simulation team members and healthcare professionals. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Program & Logistics Coordination (40%) Coordinate all aspects of academic simulation activities including planning, design, implementation and evaluation. Participate in cost analysis and effective implementation of simulation activities. Provide professional development, oversight and ongoing feedback for individuals supporting simulation activities (e.g. faculty, team members, standardized patients, etc.). Healthcare Professional Training & External Programs (40%) Coordinate and implement non-academic programs, such as Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS). Develop and implement external programs and learners incorporating simulation such as high school students, MSU pre-clinical groups, MSU staff, Registered Student Organization(s), healthcare industry partners, etc. Marketing, Publicity & Outreach (10%) Participate in marketing and promotional efforts for external and professional development programs. Maintain and upload current program information across websites and social media platforms. Collaborate with community, regional, national and/or international users to advance the use of simulation in healthcare education Quality Improvement & Policy Development (10%) Collect, analyze, and report program data using surveys, online tools, and other collection approaches to evaluate educational outcomes. Drive ongoing quality improvement initiatives to enhance program execution. Some remote work availability will be discussed, schedule will be negotiated with the ideal candidate (e.g. 4- 10 hour days, or 5- 8 hour days). Valid driver's license is required. Ability to lift/move equipment of 50lbs or less. Minimum Requirements Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in a healthcare-related field (e.g. nursing, paramedic science, higher adult education) or equivalent experience, plus a minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in planning and overseeing seminars and conferences including public relations, organizing and disseminating training materials and information both written and web-based; budget and records maintenance and computer support; experience in supervision, database, spreadsheet, word processing, desktop publishing, knowledge of HTML programming and web site development and management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Desired Qualifications Technical Skills: Basic working knowledge of healthcare simulation modalities (e.g. human patient simulators, standardized patients, extended reality) and proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word). Core Competencies: Strong data collection, analysis, and reporting abilities; excellent verbal and written communication skills; proven ability to multi-task workloads with minimal supervision; highly team oriented with strong interpersonal skills across all organizational levels. Other: Ability to lift/move equipment of 50 lbs or less. Valid driver's license required. Master's degree in a healthcare-related field (e.g. nursing, paramedic science, higher adult education) or equivalent experience, pls a minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience. Simulation certification such as SSH Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator or Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist. Advanced Life Support certifications (ACLS, PALS) and/or AHA Instructor certification(s). Background in planning, developing, implementing, evaluating, and customizing clinical education programs sing instructional technologies (e.g. high-fidelity simulators). Knowledge of adult education theories, principles, and instructional design methods. Experience marketing programs through social media and digital venues. Working knowledge of Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Improvement (QI) processes.
