The Role

We are seeking an experienced Materials Manager to lead materials planning, inventory management, procurement coordination, and supply continuity initiatives. The ideal candidate will oversee inventory optimization, demand planning, warehouse coordination, supplier collaboration, and cross-functional operations while ensuring material availability, cost efficiency, quality compliance, and uninterrupted production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement materials management strategies, inventory optimization frameworks, and supply planning programmes aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Lead materials planning, inventory control, replenishment, warehouse coordination, stock optimization, and production material availability initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Warehouse Operations, Logistics, Quality Assurance, Engineering, Finance, Sales, and Executive Leadership to ensure efficient material flow across the organization.
  • Develop material requirement plans (MRP), inventory policies, replenishment strategies, safety stock levels, and demand forecasting models.
  • Oversee receiving, storage, inventory movements, stock accuracy, cycle counting, physical inventory verification, and material traceability processes.
  • Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules, material quality, lead times, and procurement activities to minimize supply chain risks.
  • Coordinate production scheduling, inventory allocation, warehouse operations, transportation planning, and material distribution to support business continuity.
  • Manage obsolete inventory, slow-moving stock, inventory reduction initiatives, and warehouse space optimization programmes.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational inventory policies, quality standards, warehouse safety procedures, import and export requirements, and UAE regulatory requirements where applicable.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including inventory accuracy, inventory turnover, stock availability, supplier on-time delivery, order fulfillment, warehouse efficiency, inventory carrying costs, forecast accuracy, and production support performance.
  • Conduct inventory audits, supplier performance reviews, process evaluations, cost analyses, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage materials management budgets, warehouse resources, inventory investments, supplier relationships, logistics contracts, and strategic supply chain initiatives.
  • Drive digital transformation through artificial intelligence (AI)-powered demand forecasting, predictive inventory optimization, warehouse automation, intelligent replenishment, workflow automation, and business intelligence solutions.
  • Utilize SAP S/4HANA, Oracle SCM Cloud, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management, Infor LN, NetSuite ERP, Manhattan Associates, Microsoft 365, Power BI, Tableau, warehouse management systems (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS), and material requirements planning (MRP) platforms to optimize inventory performance and generate actionable insights.
  • Prepare executive dashboards, inventory performance reports, supply chain analyses, supplier scorecards, warehouse performance reviews, cost optimization reports, and strategic recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop materials planners, inventory controllers, warehouse supervisors, logistics coordinators, procurement specialists, and multidisciplinary teams while fostering a culture of operational excellence, collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration (MBA), Operations Management, Logistics, or a related discipline is highly advantageous.
  • Professional certifications such as APICS Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent are preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in materials management, inventory management, supply chain, warehouse operations, procurement, manufacturing, or related roles.
  • At least 2 years of experience managing materials teams, warehouse operations, inventory programmes, or supply chain initiatives preferred.
  • Strong understanding of materials planning, inventory management, warehouse operations, demand forecasting, procurement coordination, logistics, ERP systems, MRP processes, and supply chain optimization.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA, Oracle SCM Cloud, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management, Infor LN, NetSuite ERP, Manhattan Associates WMS, Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, Tableau, WMS, TMS, and MRP software.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered supply chain analytics, predictive demand planning, warehouse automation, IoT-enabled inventory tracking, robotic process automation (RPA), and digital supply chain technologies is highly advantageous.
  • Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, analytical thinking, negotiation, financial management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple materials management initiatives while balancing inventory availability, operational efficiency, supplier performance, budgets, timelines, quality standards, and business objectives.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote environment with distributed supply chain teams, suppliers, logistics providers, manufacturing facilities, warehouse operations, executives, and global stakeholders, with occasional travel for supplier visits, warehouse audits, operational reviews, and strategic planning sessions as required.
