Electrical Distribution Design Engineer II

We are seeking a Design Engineer II to support electric distribution utility projects, including overhead and underground distribution system design, service extensions, system improvements, and reliability/storm hardening initiatives. This role involves performing engineering calculations, developing construction-ready design packages, coordinating with utility clients and field teams, and ensuring compliance with utility standards, NESC, and applicable regulations Responsibilities: Apply technical engineering knowledge to develop high-quality designs that meet project specifications, client requirements, and industry standards. Communicate project challenges related to scope, schedule, cost, and quality to project teams and stakeholders. Collaborate with Designers and Drafters to develop complete engineering design packages. Utilize CAD software and engineering analysis tools to support electric distribution design projects. Prepare simple to moderately complex engineering designs, including calculations, construction drawings, and supporting documentation. Lead discipline-specific design efforts on smaller projects while supporting more complex engineering initiatives and technical analyses. Interact with clients on a limited basis to support project coordination and execution. Interpret and apply applicable industry codes, standards, regulations, and company procedures. Communicate professionally, clearly, and in a timely manner with clients, project managers, and internal teams. Identify and communicate project information to clients and stakeholders through project managers and team leads. Perform thorough self-reviews prior to submitting work, participate in peer and quality control reviews, and deliver accurate, high-quality engineering packages with minimal revisions. Be open to field visits as needed to support engineering designs, perform site assessments, collect field data, and validate project requirements. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in engineering at ABET accredited university 1-2 years of electrical distribution design experience Knowledge of the software BOUD and Maximo Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to travel to project sites as needed.
