We are seeking an Electrical Engineer/Designer with a minimum of 2 years of commercial electrical design experience to join our growing team. This role will support the design of power distribution systems, lighting layouts, and photometric analysis across a diverse portfolio of commercial building types. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working independently on assigned scopes, and has a working knowledge of applicable building, electrical and energy codes. Location : 100% Remote . Working hours are based between the CST and EST time zones. Key Responsibilities Design commercial electrical power distribution systems, including service entrance, panelboards, feeders, branch circuiting, and equipment connections. Develop interior and exterior lighting layouts and perform photometric calculations to meet project design criteria and code requirements. Prepare construction documents in AutoCAD and Revit, including plans, details, schedules, and one-line diagrams. Ensure compliance National Electrical Code (NEC) throughout design process. Ensure compliance with International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) requirements, including lighting power density, controls, and compliance documentation. Coordinate electrical design with mechanical, plumbing, structural, and architectural disciplines. Support construction administration tasks, including RFI responses and submittal reviews. Assist with permit review comment responses and code compliance documentation. Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and contractors throughout the design process. Required Qualifications 2+ years of experience in commercial electrical systems design. Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC). Working knowledge of the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC). Demonstrated experience with power distribution design (service, feeders, panels, branch circuits). Demonstrated experience with lighting layout and photometric calculations. Proficiency in AutoCAD. Proficiency in Revit (electrical design/MEP workflows). Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering , Engineering Technology, or related field (or equivalent practical experience). Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple project deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience with photometric software (e.g., AGi32, Visual, or similar). Familiarity with utility coordination and service planning. Experience across multiple commercial building types (retail, multifamily, industrial, healthcare).
