As an Electrician in our Justice and Immigration Facilities Management team, you’ll carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance, fault finding, and installation work that helps keep a secure environment safe, compliant, and operational. What you’ll do as an Electrician Carry out fault finding, repairs, and defect rectification on electrical plant and equipment. Complete planned preventative maintenance activities in line with statutory and contractual requirements. Install new electrical plant, equipment, and associated systems as required. Inspect, test, and maintain electrical distribution systems, including low-voltage and high-voltage infrastructure where authorised and trained. Read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and maintenance documentation to support effective repairs and installations. Work collaboratively with the wider maintenance team, maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and performance across the site. Does this sound like you? Hold a City and Guilds Electrical Certificate or equivalent recognised electrical trade qualification. Have completed a recognised electrical apprenticeship. Qualified to BS7671 (current edition of the Institution of Engineering and Technology Wiring Regulations). Have at least five years’ electrical trade experience following completion of your apprenticeship. Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a complex operational environment.
