Engineering Manager

This role suits an engineering manager who wants to lead people without losing touch with how software is built.

Salary: €80,000–€85,000 / Bonus: 20%

The role

You’ll be responsible for a portfolio of mission-critical applications and the engineers who build and support them.

You’ll:

• Lead, coach and develop a team of software engineers.
• Work with product owners, architects and engineering teams to turn business requirements into clear priorities and technical deliverables.
• Oversee the delivery of scalable, resilient and secure software.
• Align priorities and roadmaps across business and engineering teams.
• Set consistent engineering and architectural standards.
• Work with the technical lead to strengthen CI/CD, automated testing, infrastructure-as-code and containerisation.
• Hire and retain engineers across multiple locations.

What you’ll need

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including building scalable, resilient and secure web applications.
• 5+ years of direct people-management experience within software engineering.
• Hands-on experience across frontend and backend development.
• A good understanding of microservices and cloud deployments.
• Experience delivering and managing mission-critical applications.
• A strong record of hiring, coaching, motivating and retaining engineers.
• Experience managing remote or distributed teams.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code, automated testing, CI/CD and containerisation.

You’ll join a global team building an enterprise platform used to store, trade and service digital assets, including Bitcoin and Ethereum.

The role offers the resources and scale of a large financial-services organisation, alongside the technical challenges of modern digital-asset infrastructure.

Package and working arrangements

Salary: €80,000–€85,000

Bonus: 20%

Pension: Non-contributory, age-related and averaging approximately 10%

Location: Galway

Working pattern: Currently around 25% office-based. The company expects to move towards full-time office attendance from 2027, although no firm transition date has been set.

Interview process: Two technical interviews, followed by an HR interview.
