See yourself working here Reporting to the Portfolio Manager, the Project Officer will work as part of a team of Engineers, Engineering Officers and Project Delivery Officers to support the planning and delivery of maintenance, breakdown, survey and construction work across Ausgrid’s Distribution network. This includes overhead, underground and substation works on network assets up to 132kV This role will provide key planning, technical, system and coordination support to Network Test South and the Network Test Scheduler, assisting with the delivery of planned and unplanned works in a heavily reactive, priority-driven work environment. You will undertake desktop analysis of assigned work, prepare job documentation, manage system-based work activities and support the coordination of internal and external resources. This includes preparing Network Access Requests, job packs, test templates, resource information, field documentation and other supporting materials to ensure field teams are provided with accurate, complete and high-quality work packages. The Project Officer will also support the effective management of work, stakeholder communications, quality reviews and technical documentation to enable the safe and efficient delivery of work across the network. Key responsibilities In this role, you will be responsible for: Supporting Network Test South and the Network Test Scheduler to deliver planned and unplanned works within a reactive, priority-driven work group. Managing planning systems, processes and correspondence across the Network Test South program of work. Coordinating and tracking recurring compliance and maintenance activities, including performance checks, test and tag activities, AED and PPE inspections, ladder inspections, and test equipment maintenance tasks. Preparing and accurately attributing job pack details to job scheduling cards cards, including report generation, test templates, runouts, plots, Network Access Requests, correspondence, calculations, testing requirements and other relevant job details. Managing instrument calibration systems and supporting the accuracy and currency of test equipment records. Reviewing job packs in a timely and efficient manner in readiness for the Network Test Scheduler, including recommendations on resource requirements and expected timeframes. Supporting quality audits, documentation reviews and continuous improvement of job planning and work delivery processes. Supporting Network Test Portfolio Manager in forecasting, preparing, monitoring, and advising key stakeholders in a wide range of internal and external works, including but not limited to; routine maintenance, fault location and rectification, commissioning, major projects, and survey work. Preparation and planning of works notifications and task in ERP, in readiness for Network Test Scheduler. Monitoring the receipting and dispatching of glove and bay testing, and providing priorities, estimates and relevant updates. Supporting external works through tailored job pack creation, including assisting the Network Test South Manager with job scoping, planning advice and recommendations to key stakeholders. Following up re-visit and re-prioritised work, ensuring relevant information is clearly communicated to key stakeholders and Network Test Scheduler. Communicating heavy fleet defects and equipment failures to the Network Test South Portfolio Manager and Network Test Scheduler Liaising with Field Supervisors, Leading Hands, schedulers, managers and other internal and external stakeholders to support safe and efficient work delivery. Preparing high-quality written and system-based documentation to assist field teams in the safe delivery of work and the continued reliable operation of Ausgrid’s network. What you bring to the role Our hiring decisions are not only based on your experience and skills, but also your passion, attitude and alignment to our core values. To be successful, you will have the following skills and experience: Advanced Diploma or Degree in an electrical or relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent experience. Proven experience and technical expertise gained in a relevant trade, engineering-related or technical role within the electricity distribution industry or a similar environment. Class C Driver Licence. Sound knowledge of relevant statutes, regulations and procedures, including safe working practices, network standards and codes of practice. Demonstrated experience managing multiple tasks, work activities or projects while prioritising competing demands in a reactive operational environment. Experience preparing, reviewing and managing job packs, work orders, technical documentation or system-based work activity records. Experience using SAP, WMS (Microsoft Dynamics Field Service) or similar work management systems would be highly regarded. Effective verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal and stakeholder management capability. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team to deliver work outcomes within required timeframes and costs. Experience liaising with a range of stakeholders, including resolving technical, planning or delivery-related issues. Experience monitoring and reporting costs, resources or financial impacts across work activities, projects or programs of work. Advanced computer skills with experience using a variety of software packages, systems, tools, hardware or general applications. Proven problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify issues, recommend practical solutions and support improved work delivery outcomes.
