Engineering Technician – Part Time Remote The successful applicant will join a highly motivated conservation team dedicated toward accomplishing Ducks Unlimited’s (DU) mission. The successful applicant will assist a regional team to deliver wetland, riparian, and associated habitat restoration projects in Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisianna, Alabama, and Tennessee. This unique position is structured specifically for a current student with some time remaining in their degree. The role offers full-time hours during the summer and transitions into a flexible, part-time schedule during the school year, providing a direct pathway to graduation with extensive, hands-on engineering experience. Responsibilities: The successful applicant will: (1) serve as DU’s representative on construction projects, while performing a variety of inspections to verify contractor’s compliance with plans, specifications, and standards; (2) prepare inspection reports and maintain project records; (3) be responsible for the operation of various surveying equipment to assist with construction surveys; (4) assist Regional Engineer(s) and other Technician(s) with a variety of administrative duties. Qualifications: Currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering Technology Degree Program with no more than twelve (12) months remaining until graduation. Experience and knowledge in surveying techniques. Demonstrated ability to work with public and private conservation partners. Demonstrated oral and written interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to operate ATV and outboard boats in various environments. Self-motivated and goal oriented. Willingness to work outside of normal business hours, willingness to work independently, willingness to travel out of town and overnight on a regular basis, ability to work in inclement weather, and ability to work with minimal supervision in remote work environments.
