Apply Job Type Part-time Description We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Enteral Liaison to join our team. In this role will involve delivering supplies, setting up, monitoring enteral nutrition pumps, and providing direct patient care. This role will involve developing and maintaining strong relationships with referral sources (i.e. case managers, social work, dietitians, MDs) to assist with discharge of enterally fed patients. This role will also involve set-ups of feeding pumps, training, and education of patients/caregivers, providing in-services to new and existing accounts. Job Type : Per Diem (5-10 hours per week. Flexible schedule) Requirements Bachelor's degree in nutrition from an accredited college or university Valid driver’s license Previous experience as a Registered dietician preferred Knowledge of enteral nutrition Ability to assess and monitor patient vital signs Ability to administer enteral nutrition safely and accurately Ability to provide patient and family education Knowledge of infection control policies and procedures Job Responsibilities, included but not limited to: Provide medical care and support to patients with enteral feeding needs Monitor and adjust enteral feeding rates and formulations as ordered by the physician Monitor the patient's progress and adjust enteral feeding as necessary Educate patients and families on enteral feeding and nutrition Assist in the development of enteral nutrition plans Manage and monitor enteral nutrition supplies Monitor patient’s vital signs and adjust enteral nutrition as necessary Communicate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient care Prepare and administer medications via enteral feeding tubes Document patient care information in the medical record Monitor patient’s response to enteral feeding and report any changes to the healthcare team Collaborate with dietitians to ensure appropriate nutrition and hydration goals are met Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Manipulate small equipment and containers, such as syringes, vials, ampules, and medication packages, to administer medications. Negotiate level surfaces, ramps, and stairs. Function with both hands free for performing psychomotor tasks. Maneuver in small areas. The employee must frequently lift a minimum weight of 15 pounds and more, and be able to perform repetitive standing, sitting, stooping, walking, stretching, reaching, typing and use full range of body motions.
