Enterprise Architect Gauteng | Hybrid Reporting to: Chief Information Officer At Harambee, we're building the systems, partnerships, and capabilities needed to solve youth unemployment at scale. As we continue our digital transformation journey, we're looking for an experienced Enterprise Architect to establish and lead our Enterprise Architecture capability, ensuring that our business strategy, technology landscape, data ecosystem, security practices, and AI ambitions work together to support long-term organisational impact. About the Role Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, you will be responsible for developing and embedding Harambee's Enterprise Architecture practice, providing strategic direction across business, data, applications, technology, security, and AI. This role goes well beyond producing architecture diagrams or documenting systems. It requires translating Harambee’s strategic priorities into a coherent enterprise-wide architecture that connects business capability, operating model design, data, applications, integrations, infrastructure, security, and emerging AI opportunities. The Enterprise Architect will need to work across complex organisational, technical, and stakeholder landscapes to guide investment decisions, manage architectural trade-offs, reduce fragmentation and technical debt, and ensure that Harambee’s technology environment is scalable, secure, sustainable, and able to support long-term impact. What You'll Be Doing In this role, you will: Establish and mature Harambee's Enterprise Architecture capability, including architecture governance, standards, principles, frameworks, and best practices. Develop enterprise roadmaps and future-state architectures that align technology investments with organisational strategy and business priorities. Translate strategic objectives into business capabilities, operating models, technology solutions, and implementation plans that enable organisational growth and impact. Provide oversight and guidance on major technology initiatives, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, sustainable, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards. Maintain an enterprise-wide view of applications, platforms, integrations, and data assets while identifying opportunities to simplify, modernise, and optimise the technology landscape. Partner with business, technology, data, and operational leaders to identify capability gaps, reduce duplication, improve efficiency, and support better decision-making. Champion data architecture and governance principles that support analytics, reporting, AI, privacy, and regulatory compliance requirements. Embed security-by-design, privacy-by-design, and responsible AI practices into organisational architecture, technology planning, and solution design. Facilitate architecture governance forums, guiding decision-making and ensuring architecture risks, exceptions, dependencies, and technical debt are effectively managed. Build architecture awareness and capability across the organisation through coaching, engagement, facilitation, and collaboration with stakeholders at all levels. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Technology, Business Information Management, or a related field. TOGAF Certified Practitioner (or equivalent Enterprise Architecture certification). Minimum 8 years' experience in Enterprise Architecture, Solution Architecture, Business Architecture, or Technology Leadership roles. Proven experience developing enterprise roadmaps, capability maps, operating models, and target-state architectures. Experience leading architecture governance processes and driving alignment across business, technology, data, and security domains.
