GENERAL FUNCTION: Work closely and effectively with Director of Enterprise Valuation performing independent business valuations to support credit and risk decisions . Provide research support across the bank related to industry analysis and valuation trends . Support Commercial Credit with various portfolio projects. Performs a wide range of complex analytical, valuation , and financial modeling analysis to benefit credit underwriting of leveraged loans. Requires highly skilled quantitative, analytical , and communication skills. Requires the ability to synthesize large amounts of information to build effective and easy to understand financial models. Ability to manage multiple projects independently and ready to assume a high level of responsibility as a member of a team. Ability to communicate effectively and proactively with members of the deal team and collaborate with partners throughout the bank. While operating within the Bank’s risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying , assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Use S&P Capital IQ to perform relative valuation analysis with guideline public companies and precedent M&A transactions . Calculate enterprise value using discounted cash flow (DCF) model . Requires assessment of projected performance, discount rate (WACC), terminal growth rate, and other assumptions. Projection modeling with Microsoft Excel using the Bank’s advanced Leveraged Finance model . Analyzing projections and assessing likelihood based on industry data, historical performance, review of quality of earnings report, and reasonableness of add-backs . Effectively communicate with deal team to obtain known comps and review projection assumptions . Industry research with S&P Capital IQ, IBIS World, Kroll , and daily publications . Maintain database of valuations completed and metrics used to compare year-over-year changes . Enterprise value reporting of bank portfolio and assessment of aggregate metrics . Exhibit strong work ethic, detail orientation , positive attitude, and passion for excellence . MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting 2-5 years of credit analysis or valuation experience preferably in Capital Markets, Leveraged Finance, or industry vertical Ability to analyze data and present conclusions effectively Strong modeling and Microsoft Excel skills Understanding of valuation concepts such as market comps, free cash flow, EBITDA, present value, and WACC Familiarity with the Bank's internal applications is a plus CFA designation or in process is a plus (exam fees reimbursable under most circumstances) SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES : None WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment Extended time at desk / viewing computer screen Travel not required Remote work or hybrid work All locations in Fifth Third footprint with preference for: Charlotte , NC , Cincinnati , OH , Detroit , MI , or Grand Rapids , MI #LI-GM1 At Fifth Third Bank, we understand the importance of rewarding our employees for their hard work and dedication, therefore, our Total Rewards offering includes a differentiated compensation package and comprehensive benefits. Individual salaries within this range will vary based on factors such as role, relevant skillset, relevant experience, education and geographic location. In addition to the base salary, this role is eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan, with any such payment based upon company, line of business and/or individual performance.
