As a Full Stack Engineer at Yelp, you will have the flexibility to tackle a variety of product and infrastructure challenges, mostly focused on the backend with some frontend exposure. You will have the opportunity to develop highly performant APIs on the backend, collaborate with other engineers on building AI-backed features to support user flows across voice and other modalities, as well as create the visual components our users interact with every day. What you'll do: Work with a globally distributed team based in multiple countries. Design, build and improve features for Yelp Host to help businesses connect with customers via voice AI at a large scale. Work on projects like call intelligence, which uses LLMs to analyze phone calls and deliver insights to restaurants. Participate in daily standups, collaborative meetings, and work closely with PMs, senior engineers, and designers. Work closely with experienced engineers for mentorship and hands-on learning. Think deeply about the user experience, and share continuous improvement ideas. Write clean, maintainable code in Python, JavaScript, and React and leverage AI coding tools such as Claude, Cursor, and Codex where necessary to enhance productivity. What it takes to succeed: All communication for this role, both spoken and written, will be conducted in English. Educational and/or work experience, or interest in Full Stack development with backend and frontend frameworks. Be familiar with modern languages and frameworks (e.g. Python, MySQL, React, JavaScript, etc.). Eagerness to learn about applied AI, LLMs, and implement practical uses to solve real business challenges quickly. Comfortable working in a Unix environment. Collaborative spirit and willingness to communicate with different technical teams and business stakeholders. Willingness to embrace mentorship, feedback, and new challenges.
