Is this job info correct?

Take your laboratory knowledge beyond the bench You understand how a laboratory works—the terminology, the pace, and the importance of getting every detail right. Now, you may be ready to apply that knowledge in a different way. Bureau Veritas is looking for an Environmental Quality Assurance Coordinator to help keep critical quality, training, vendor, and subcontractor processes moving across our Canadian Environmental operations. This role is ideal for someone with laboratory or technical-environment experience who enjoys the organizational side of the work: keeping records accurate, tracking outstanding items, coordinating across teams, and following through until everything is complete. You’ll support employees and operations across Canada, giving you the opportunity to build broader experience in quality assurance while seeing how multiple laboratories and business functions work together. You’ll be the person who notices what is missing, knows who to contact, and doesn’t let an important detail disappear into someone’s inbox. Because this is a remote role, we’re looking for someone who is dependable and self-directed—someone who can manage their own workload, build relationships with people they may never meet in person, and recognize when to move forward independently or ask for help. This is a full-time, 18-month contract covering a maternity leave . Reports to: Senior Quality Assurance Manager Department: Quality Assurance Work arrangement: Remote within Canada Salary: $50,000-$58,240 annually, based on relevant education and experience Why this opportunity? This role offers the chance to: Move from laboratory or technical work into a broader quality assurance career path. Gain exposure to environmental laboratory operations across Canada. Work with Quality Assurance, Laboratory Operations, Legal, Purchasing, Human Resources, and Customer Service. Build experience with training systems, quality metrics, audits, vendors, and subcontractor qualification. Work independently from home while remaining connected to a national team. Become a trusted resource for the people and processes that keep our laboratories operating effectively. What you’ll be doing You’ll help ensure that essential quality, training, vendor, and subcontractor information is complete, current, and accessible across our Environmental business. You will: Create, update, and archive employee training profiles for new hires, current employees, and departing employees across Canada. Assign general quality assurance and safety qualifications within employee training profiles. Maintain training matrices and help ensure training requirements are applied consistently across locations. Respond to questions from operational teams about training profiles, requirements, and records. Publish custom dashboards and distribute quality-related information to Environmental employees. Coordinate vendor and subcontractor evaluations by gathering documentation, tracking outstanding requirements, and following up with internal and external partners. Support subcontractor agreements by coordinating reviews and requested changes with vendors, Legal, and Operations leaders. Pull information from multiple databases to prepare quality metrics, scorecards, reports, and status updates. Prepare reports and communications related to customer nonconformance records. Support the administration and ongoing maintenance of quality management software. Prepare approved quality-management documentation for external use. Organize records and supporting materials for external audits and other quality initiatives. Provide additional administrative and coordination support as business needs arise. Some of this work is routine and process-driven. Other parts depend on responses from busy people across the organization or outside the company. Your ability to stay organized, switch between priorities, and follow up diplomatically—but persistently—will be essential. You may be a great fit if you… Understand laboratory terminology and how work moves through a laboratory environment. Enjoy creating order, maintaining accurate records, and keeping track of multiple moving pieces. Are comfortable following up more than once when something important is still outstanding. Can work independently without needing frequent reminders or supervision. Know what you know—and are equally comfortable recognizing when you need to ask a question. Communicate confidently with employees, leaders, vendors, and subcontractors you have not worked with before. Can move between repetitive administrative tasks and unexpected, time-sensitive requests. Take pride in being the person others can trust to follow through. What you’ll bring At least one to two years of experience in laboratory operations, quality assurance, technical administration, environmental services, or a related technical environment. A practical understanding of laboratory terminology, functions, and workflows. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments, deadlines, and outstanding requests. Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills. Careful attention to detail, particularly when working with reports, contracts, records, and quality documentation. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel. The judgment and discretion required to work with confidential or sensitive information. The ability to collaborate effectively through Microsoft Teams, email, telephone, and other remote communication tools. Nice to have—but not required A technical diploma or bachelor’s degree in chemistry, laboratory science, environmental science, or a related discipline. Hands-on experience working in a laboratory. Familiarity with quality assurance or quality control processes. Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025. Experience with quality management or training-management software. Experience supporting vendor or subcontractor qualification processes. The ability to communicate in French. Working conditions Primarily a remote, office-based role, with occasional exposure to laboratory environments. Workload may fluctuate based on hiring activity, audits, reporting deadlines, and operational needs. Training-profile activity may increase during seasonal hiring periods. Some evening, weekend, or out-of-town work may occasionally be required. Your experience may look different—and that’s okay We know that capable candidates do not always meet every preferred qualification listed in a job posting. If you understand laboratory operations, bring strong coordination skills, and believe you can succeed in this role, we encourage you to apply. Bureau Veritas is committed to an inclusive and accessible recruitment process. Accommodations are available throughout the recruitment and selection process upon request.
