Offering Flexible Hybrid Work Schedule: 2 – 3 Days from office Available Office Locations: Andover, MA; Canton, MA Travel: Up to 50% average throughout New England Who we are looking for: Woodard & Curran is looking for a motivated, bright, and talented Engineer, Geologist, or Scientist with two to five years of experience to join our team in the Greater Boston Area. We are seeking a motivated self-starter who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to support environmental investigation, remediation, and hazardous building materials projects for a diverse range of clients. In this role, you will coordinate field activities and subcontractors, develop technical documents including work plans and remediation specifications, and contribute to project planning and execution. The ideal candidate is an effective communicator with strong technical and organizational skills, the ability to work independently, and a willingness to balance field assignments, travel, and office-based responsibilities. This position provides excellent opportunities for professional growth and increasing project responsibilities. What you will be doing at Woodard & Curran: A staff-level Environmental Engineer, Geologist, or Scientist is typically assigned specific tasks on project teams and is expected to use their knowledge to resolve the problems and tasks they are assigned under the mentorship of Project Managers and senior level staff. Position responsibilities will include supporting the evaluation of suspect hazardous building materials associated with building renovations and demolition projects, conducting site characterization activities, remediation system design, operation, maintenance, and monitoring, data management/tracking and reporting. Field work, data management, report writing, and interaction with project staff will play an important role in the candidate’s success. The ideal candidate should be a self-starter with a desire to perform onsite field work and possess strong technical and writing skills to support a wide range of science and engineering projects located across the firm’s geography and core markets . A successful candidate will also be detail oriented, have excellent verbal communication skills combined with a positive attitude, and ability to work both independently and across multi-disciplined project teams. What you will need to succeed: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geology, environmental science, or related field from an accredited program . 2-5 years of professional experience with an environmental/engineering consulting firm, including a strong background in site investigation, remediation, construction, and hazardous building materials projects . Strong commitment to health, safety, and safe work practices mandatory. Preferred candidates will have certification as an Asbestos Inspector in the State of Massachusetts and/or other New England States or the willingness and qualifications to obtain the certification. 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training and current annual refresher Detailed oriented with excellent organizational, technical writing, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel. Experience with database software, ArcGIS Pro and AutoCAD is a plus. Woodard & Curran offers a comprehensive benefits package.
