The Executive Underwriter will actively contribute to the implementation of the environmental liability strategy for the United States. The Executive Underwriter will also underwrite profitable accounts for the Environmental Liability team. This role requires an entrepreneurial mindset and strong desire to achieve profitable underwriting results. Essential functions: Work in collaboration with Environmental Liability Team Lead to develop and implement environmental strategy for the United States. Produce, underwrite and manage a profitable book of business. Utilize underwriter authority in accordance with framework and underwriter guidelines. Manage select wholesale and retail broker relationships to ensure objectives are achieved. Market with other divisions to generate cross-sell business. Strong knowledge of marketplace conditions. Make strategic recommendations to Environmental Team Lead. Collaborate with Environmental Liability lead for hiring requisitions. Participate in special projects and department initiatives at the request of Casualty Manager or Environmental Liability Lead. Continue to develop and update products for the Environmental Liability Division. Additional Requirements: Strong presentation and people skills. Strong financial analysis background. Create and maintain broker relationships nationwide with the ability to build relationships in new markets. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Excellent negotiation, interpersonal communication skills, and strong marketing abilities. Self Starter with an attitude to win profitable accounts. Compensation The base salary range for this position is $160,000-$200,000 plus eligibility for a performance-based annual bonus. Actual compensation will be based on a variety of factors including experience, education, and location.
