Position description
Context and role
The European Network of Comprehensive Cancer Centres (EUnetCCC) is a Joint Action funded under the EU4Health programme, an initiative stemming from Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan – Flagship 5.
The initiative aims to establish an EU-wide network of Comprehensive Cancer Centres (CCCs), with the goal of ensuring that by 2030, 90% of eligible patients have access to a CCC and improving access to high-quality care close to home.
Within this framework, ACC leads Work Package 7 (WP7), responsible for developing and implementing the governance structure for the future Network. The Network will comprise various governance bodies, including the Network Assembly, which will bring together members, and a Secretariat, which will play a pivotal role in supporting and facilitating the Network’s functions.
In this context, the Governance Tool will facilitate the management of membership applications, document submissions, and ongoing compliance with Network standards.
ACC is looking for a full-stack developer capable of developing the web tool according to the specifications already developed by the ACC team and in a timely manner, in line with the project’s needs.
Key responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Development of the Governance Tool, collaborating with the ACC Team
- Maintaining direct contact with the Portal Development Team to align on technical issues
- Maintaining direct contact with Data Protection Officers on GDPR-related issues
- Training the Secretariat in the use of the Governance Tool
- Participating in recurring and ad hoc meetings with strategic staff and other IT experts
Qualifications and skills
Essentials
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics or Mathematics
- Bachelor’s Degree in other fields of study may be considered if the required skills can be demonstrated
Languages
- English: Advanced level (C1 or higher), both written and spoken
- Italian: Advanced level (C1 or higher), both written and spoken
Other requirements
Required skills
- Ability to actively participate in recurring and ad hoc meetings with strategic staff, domain experts, end users and IT teams to elicit, clarify and structure functional needs, including identifying implicit requirements
- Ability to translate discussions among non-technical stakeholders into actionable software deliverables, such as user stories, backlog items, acceptance criteria, process diagrams and prototypes
- Ability to follow requirements throughout the development lifecycle by supporting testing, validating solutions with stakeholders, collecting and incorporating feedback, and preparing user documentation, training materials and ongoing support
- Experience with modern web development, ideally with the Django web framework
- Experience with AI Vibe Coding and Agentic Developer Tools such as Claude Code, Antigravity and Codex
- Ability to design and manage relational databases in SQL and Django ORM
Preferred skills
- Experience with creating and managing forms and data collection modules
- Basic knowledge of web application security
- Experience with integrating APIs and third-party services
- Knowledge of authentication and authorisation systems (OAuth, JWT)
- Experience with HTMX
- Experience with DaisyUI / Tailwind / Pico CSS frameworks
- Experience with handling sensitive data and GDPR compliance
- Knowledge of platforms such as SharePoint
- Experience in European projects
Nota: Any gaps in the required skill set may be offset by experience with comparable technologies or a demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new ones.
