Exam Preparation/ Profile Development Tutor (India, Remote))

Role purpose

StudyIn Elevate is recruiting India-based tutors to support students preparing for competitive international university applications.

Candidates may specialise in:

• Exam preparation
• Profile development
• Both areas

Tutors do not need experience in both areas. Work will only be assigned where it matches the tutor’s verified knowledge and experience.

Areas of support

Exam preparation

• SAT Mathematics
• SAT Reading and Writing
• GRE Quantitative or Verbal Reasoning
• GMAT Quantitative, Verbal or Data Insights
• Diagnostic tests and mock examinations
• Exam technique, study planning and time management

Profile development

• Academic and extracurricular planning
• Research and independent project mentoring
• Supercurricular activities
• Competition, essay and portfolio preparation
• Internship and work-experience planning
• Student accountability and progress monitoring

Responsibilities

• Deliver online one-to-one or small-group sessions.
• Assess each student’s current level and development needs.
• Create a clear learning or development plan.
• Set and review practice work, projects or activities.
• Monitor progress and student engagement.
• Provide brief notes after each session.
• Work with the student’s StudyIn Elevate consultant.
• Raise concerns where a student is not progressing or engaging.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university.
• Relevant tutoring, teaching, coaching or mentoring experience.
• Strong spoken and written English.
• Clear and professional communication.
• Reliable internet, computer, camera and microphone.
• Willingness to complete a practical assessment and demonstration session.
• Professional references.

Exam-preparation applicants should provide a relevant test score or evidence of successfully teaching the examination.

Profile-development applicants should have practical experience supporting students with projects, research, competitions, portfolios, enrichment activities or work experience.

Professional boundaries

Tutors must not:

• Complete assessed work or applications for students.
• Write personal statements or essays on a student’s behalf.
• Guarantee test scores, offers, internships or placements.
• Accept private payment from StudyIn students.
• Contact students outside approved StudyIn channels.
• Provide support outside their approved area of expertise.
