We are looking for a Experience Java Backend Engineer – Azure & Kubernetes with 5–8 years of experience to join our engineering team and build scalable, secure, and reliable cloud-native applications. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in Java, microservices, Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes, and DevOps . You will be responsible for developing and delivering backend services end-to-end, contributing to technical design and architecture discussions, and ensuring that the services you build are reliable, maintainable, and production-ready. This role is suited for an engineer who is technically strong, takes ownership, enjoys solving complex problems, and is looking to grow further in technical leadership and architecture. Here's What You'll Focus On Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain cloud-native backend services . Build scalable and maintainable microservices using Java 11 or higher . Translate business and technical requirements into effective technical solutions. Develop and maintain REST APIs and distributed backend services . Work with Microsoft Azure to build and operate cloud-based applications. Develop and deploy containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes . Participate in technical design and architecture discussions for services and components. Ensure code quality, performance, reliability, scalability, security, and maintainability. Write unit and integration tests using JUnit and apply Test-Driven Development (TDD) where appropriate. Participate in code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback. Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes. Take ownership of applications through the complete development-to-production lifecycle . Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to root-cause analysis and preventive actions. Implement appropriate logging, monitoring, alerting, and operational practices. Identify technical debt and contribute to initiatives that improve system quality and maintainability. Collaborate with product managers, architects, QA, DevOps, security, and other engineering teams. Work effectively within an Agile/Scrum/SAFe development environment. Share knowledge and provide technical guidance to junior engineers. Stay current with emerging technologies and contribute ideas for continuous improvement. You are comfortable working across the software development lifecycle and understand that delivering a feature means more than writing code—it also includes testing, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement. You have a good understanding of microservices and distributed systems and can make practical technical decisions around scalability, performance, reliability, security, and cost. You actively participate in technical discussions and code reviews and are willing to learn, challenge existing approaches constructively, and contribute to improving engineering practices. At this level, you are also expected to help other engineers grow through knowledge sharing, code reviews, and technical mentoring. Required Technical Skills Backend Development 5–8 years of professional software development experience. Strong hands-on experience with Java 11 or higher . Strong experience developing backend applications and REST APIs . Good understanding of Microservices architecture . Strong understanding of Java fundamentals, OOP, collections, exception handling, concurrency, and design principles. Experience with Spring / Spring Boot is preferred. Experience with Maven or similar build tools. Microsoft Azure Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud-native application development. Experience with one or more of the following Azure services: Kubernetes & Containers Hands-on experience with Kubernetes . Experience deploying and managing containerized applications.
