External Crypto AML Officer / MLRO - 60 - 100%

We help FinTechs and VASPs go from chaos to compliance. We're looking for an External Crypto AML Officer / MLRO who treats compliance as a product to build, not paperwork to survive. You'll work directly with me (Justin Friedrich) and a small team, with room to take initiative and shape where we go next. Workload is 60 to 100%, start date by arrangement.

About us

We're a Swiss-focused AML advisory and outsourcing provider for FinTechs and VASPs. We pair technology with expertise to enable our clients' business models, not slow them down. We don't sit on the outside sending memos. We see ourselves as part of the team, working shoulder to shoulder with the founders we serve. Since 2024 we've served 26 financial intermediaries across three service lines: AML outsourcing, governance services, and SRO applications, and we're growing fast.

Most compliance work is slow because it's done by hand. We've built the opposite: technology and AI carry the repetitive workflows, so the person in this role spends their days on what machines can't do, reading a client, making the judgment call, solving the messy problem, and building something that holds up. This is our first AML Officer hire, and we want someone who wants to build the company with us, not just fill a seat.

What you'll own

• Run client relationships from the first call through to a live, working AML framework
• Build these frameworks hands-on, from onboarding workflows to transaction monitoring, and solve problems for clients as they come up
• Review and assess clients' existing frameworks and the systems behind them, and make them better
• Own high-risk client relationships and transaction escalations, and make the hard calls
• Lead clients through their SRO membership applications, from dossier to approval

You might be a fit if

• You have 2 to 6 years leading or supporting AML Officer / MLRO work, and you know what "good" looks like in a Swiss context (AMLA, VQF / SRO, FINMA)
• You have real experience in crypto (blockchain / VASP business). This one is a must
• You're a rare three-in-one: a business person, a compliance officer, and tech-savvy. You reach for AI to work smarter and automate the tedious parts
• You're hands-on. You'd rather fix a problem than write a memo about it
• You're curious, structured, and you'd rather build than maintain
• You're fluent in English
• You're a Swiss resident and eligible to work in Switzerland

Bonus points

• Risk management expertise
• German
• Hands-on experience with transaction monitoring / KYT tooling (e.g. Chainalysis, Elliptic, Scorechain)
• Experience with VQF / SRO membership applications, or FINMA / SRO AML audits
