Fabric Engineer — Mobile, London JLL | Workplace Management You show up, sort the problem, and vanish before anyone knows your name. Meanwhile, you're juggling everything from plumbing emergencies to electrical faults with zero recognition and a to-do list that never ends. What if you could use those multi-trade skills somewhere that actually values them? Where you're not just keeping buildings standing, but creating workplace experiences people actually notice — and where your expertise opens doors instead of just fixing them. Why fabric engineers choose JLL Work that matters You'll be the skilled professional keeping London's leading workplaces running smoothly. Real variety across commercial sites, solving genuine problems, not patching the same leaking radiator for the fifth time this month. Pay and overtime worth having Competitive salary with overtime that respects your time: time-and-a-half weekdays, double time weekends, plus £15 daily standby rate (£50 on bank holidays). Your skills and availability are valued, not exploited. Career progression that's real This isn't a dead-end maintenance role. Clear pathways to senior engineer, supervisor, and account management positions. We promote from within because we'd rather develop talent than constantly recruit it. Training you'll actually use Continuous professional development, specialist vendor liaison, and exposure to cutting-edge building systems. Expand your skillset with technologies and methodologies that keep you ahead of the curve. Backup when you need it You're part of a Workplace Management team, not out there alone. Technical support, account managers who listen, and a culture where asking for help is encouraged, not seen as weakness. Stability with flexibility The security of working for a FTSE 250 company with blue-chip clients, combined with the autonomy of a mobile role. Manage your patch, make decisions, and own your results. The complete package Core compensation: Competitive salary (discussed at interview) Enhanced overtime: x1.5 weekdays, x2 weekends Day in lieu on bank holidays Standby rates: £15/day, £50 on bank holidays Time off that works: 24 days holiday + bank holidays Buy up to 5 extra days or sell 2 days back Flexibility that respects your life outside work Security & wellbeing: Life assurance Company pension with auto-enrollment Employee Assistance Programme (24/7 confidential support) Health and wellbeing resources Forward-thinking benefits: Electric Vehicle Salary Sacrifice scheme Cycle to work scheme Employee discounts across major brands Learning and development programs What you'll be doing You'll be the go-to fabric engineer supporting multiple workplace environments across London. Your day involves planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, and ensuring specialist contractors deliver quality work that meets standards. You'll manage compliance requirements, maintain plant rooms to exacting standards, and complete accurate work orders through our Corrigo platform. This means fault-finding across plumbing, carpentry, decorating, and building fabric — genuine multi-trade work that keeps you engaged and learning. The role requires strong customer interaction with workplace occupiers, so you'll be the professional face of the engineering team, not hidden away in a plant room. You'll participate in health and safety activities, communicate effectively with account managers, and take ownership of your designated areas. Real responsibility. Real variety. Real impact on how people experience their workplace every day. What we're looking for Essential: Multi-trade experience with comprehensive understanding across fabric disciplines Proven background working in commercial workplace environments Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor with occupiers at all levels Strong IT capabilities and report writing skills Ability to stay calm under pressure and deliver within tight timeframes Proactive approach to maintaining the highest operational standards The JLL difference: We're looking for someone who wants to grow, not just maintain. Someone who takes pride in their work and understands that modern workplaces demand more than just technical fixes — they need skilled professionals who get the bigger picture. What you can expect from us You'll join an entrepreneurial, inclusive culture where workplace experience isn't just a buzzword — it's what we do. A place where your technical expertise combines with genuine career development, where colleagues collaborate across desks and continents, and where your contributions are recognized and rewarded. This is your chance to develop your strengths in an environment that's going somewhere. Keep your ambitions in sight and imagine where JLL Workplace Management can take you.
