Position Overview Our client is seeking an experienced Family Law Attorney to lead and expand its Family Law practice in South Carolina. This is a partner-level opportunity designed for a senior attorney who is ready to take ownership of practice development, client relationships, and strategic growth. This hybrid position may be based anywhere in South Carolina, offering geographic flexibility while maintaining close collaboration with firm leadership and support teams. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of family law experience, an established client base or portable book of business, and a desire to play a meaningful leadership role in expanding the firm's presence throughout the state. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage a full spectrum of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, equitable distribution, domestic violence, and related matters. Serve as the Family Law practice leader in South Carolina, helping shape strategy, processes, and long-term growth initiatives. Maintain and expand an existing portable book of business while developing new client and referral relationships. Provide strategic legal counsel and courtroom advocacy on sophisticated family law matters. Partner with firm leadership, marketing, intake, and operations teams to effectively scale the practice. Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to the long-term success and development of the Family Law group. Requirements Qualifications J.D. from an accredited law school. Active South Carolina Bar license in good standing. Five or more years of family law experience. Existing client base or portable book of business strongly preferred. Proven litigation and courtroom experience. Demonstrated leadership ability with experience building or growing a practice. Excellent communication, negotiation, and client relationship management skills. Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for practice development and long-term growth.
