Field Service Diesel Technician

Job Summary: Diagnoses and completes less complex repairs to engines at the customer’s site. We are looking for a talented Field Service Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in (Elko, NV). We offer sign on bonus, relocation, competitive pay and benefits! Will make an impact in the following ways: Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products Maintain own tools In order to be successful in this role you will need the following: Completes complex internal engine repairs Performs engine overhauls unassisted Detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components Proficient experience with engine diagnostic software Active daily participation in safety processes Thorough documentation of repairs including recording unit information and detailed repair/troubleshooting steps as necessary Working nonstandard shifts occasionally in support of business needs(nights/weekends) Timely submission of service documentation. Working rotating shift schedules in support of mining customer Frequent communication with customers and supervisors when working remotely Independent management/reconciliation of compony issues credit cards Proactive scheduling of PTO/time off Flexibility in short notice scheduling changes including out-of-down assignments Attention to clean work habits at the end of shift and throughout the shift Complying with federal DOT laws while operating company vehicles - including ELD devices Professionally communicating/representing Cummins to the customer Complying with management directives as needed in support of business operations. This position will be a remote Field Service Technician requiring residency in the Winnemucca, NV area. - A current valid license is required for this role - This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations - This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical - 3 years driving experience - This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use -Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age - A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire - Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older Education, Licenses, Certifications: Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred) Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution Locally valid driving permit This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Experience: Basic level field service work experience Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products Customer service experience Compensation and Benefits Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
