NYRBS Field Supervisors are responsible for: Supervising and supporting a team of in-school survey administrators who will be administering a school-based computerized surveys to students Recruiting, hiring, and retaining field staff Preparing work assignments to ensure cost-effective field implementation, as necessary ensuring adherence to project schedules and attainment of established performance requirements Reviewing production, time, and expense reports to ensure timely, accurate, and reasonable project charges Providing feedback to staff on their performance, noting areas of strength and areas requiring improvement Working with staff to proactively identify challenges and recommend possible solutions Meeting performance expectations in areas of efficiency, quality, screening and interviewing completion rates while maintaining confidentiality Participating in weekly individual and group conference calls with a project supervisor and other members of the project team Conducting weekly individual and group conference calls with your assigned staff Participating in required training and lead sections of the survey administrator training Serving as liaison between RTI project management and the field team, including providing immediate feedback and on-going training when required Use a project-provided laptop computer to obtain reports, make case assignments, and email with project staff Maintaining good communication with and be accessible to your staff to provide support and answer questions that may arise outside of the weekly conference calls Submitting timely and accurate Time & Expense reports Ensuring staff follow protocol when conducting surveys in-schools, reporting any issues immediately to members of the project team Minimum Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Previous supervisory experience Possess effective communication skills through speech and listening Fluency in English through reading, writing, and speaking Available for entire training and data collection period Able to successfully complete training Must have a valid US driver's license and reliable personal automobile transportation available for business use Comfortable using RTI issued tablet, laptop, and other associated equipment Access to password protected WiFi connection for data transmission and administrative responsibilities Able to keep project information confidential Effective time, schedule, and workload management skills to meet set deadlines Ability to travel locally or overnight, if needed to conduct observations. In order to travel by air, federal law requires individuals to have a REAL ID or an acceptable alternative. This position may require the successful candidate to travel by air for business reasons. Accordingly, successful candidates must have, or be willing to obtain, a REAL ID, or TSA approved alternative Positive, self-motivated, curious, and enjoy interacting with people from a variety of backgrounds Successful experience with field data collection activities Must possess advanced leadership and team management skills Effective interpersonal skills for interactions with project management, Survey Administrators and respondents Demonstrated ability to recruit and work with field staff in a role requiring schedule maintenance, problem resolution, quality control, implementation, performance monitoring, and evaluation Preferred Qualifications for Ideal Candidates Associate’s degree preferred Previous supervisory experience on a school-based or education study Demonstrated ability to recruit and work with field staff in a role requiring schedule maintenance, problem resolution, quality control, implementation, performance monitoring, and evaluation Success directly or indirectly related to experience in educational field studies which may include contact with districts and schools Successful experience with field data collection activities with an educational project Must possess advanced leadership and team management skills Effective interpersonal skills for interactions with project management, the field team, and respondents Positive, self-motivated, curious, and enjoy interacting with people from a variety of backgrounds Effective time, schedule, and workload management skills to meet set deadlines Computer skills, namely email and internet proficiency Experience managing staff involved in the collection of sensitive information in a classroom setting Experience managing classrooms Experience supporting or contributing to school-based studies Experience conducting training virtually or in-person
