About the role

CoachBase is looking for a Finance Manager to own our end-to-end payment operations, invoicing, and financial reporting. This is a fully remote role with a long-term collaboration in mind.

Key responsibilities

Payments (through bank and third-party payment platforms)

• Run monthly coach payments end to end
• Run monthly employee and contractor payments end to end
• Keep a close eye on client payment receipts landing in the company bank account
• Jump in on ad hoc payment platform support and troubleshoot issues with providers

Invoicing

• Issue client invoices on a monthly, twice-monthly, or ad hoc basis
• Stay on top of invoices and chase outstanding payments
• Keep the client payment schedule current for each engagement, and make sure invoices go out on time and as scheduled

Coach and client support

• Respond swiftly to coach queries on payments
• Own the finance mailbox and keep responses timely
• Team up with client account managers and business support to investigate and resolve payment queries

Reporting and strategy

• Build and maintain dashboards that bring monthly actuals and profitability to life — always accurate, always current
• Advise management on finance strategy, including profitability, FX, platform, and payment provider account-opening decisions, to optimize costs
• Prepare annual financial statements and mid-year interim statements
• Join ad hoc calls with management and the team as needed

Systems and process improvement (ad hoc)

• Scout for finance software that fits our activity and needs (mid-term)
• Partner with the CoachBase IT team to sharpen payment tracking for coaches and clients

What we're looking for

• Someone genuinely curious about our business and what we offer through our engagements — able to take perspective and flag potential errors or gaps rather than process blindly
• Proactive, highly diligent, and organized, with strong attention to detail
• Advanced Excel skills, including report automation and complex formulas
• Experience supporting companies on these finance topics
• Strong written communication skills to handle client and user queries related to payments and invoicing, and to clearly articulate dashboards and reporting
• Structured and organized, with a genuine enjoyment of planning
• 8–12+ years of relevant experience; Master's degree in finance and accounting preferred
• Comfortable with fractional, freelance work and a long-term, fully remote collaboration
