Finance Specialist - Record to Report - 6 month FTC Swindon, or Newport, Stockton on Tees Band D: £34,101 per annum It’s an exciting time to join UKSBS as we transform our business to be the leading UK public sector business service provider. The teams across Finance Service Delivery process a range of financial transactions and ensure procedures and processes are followed to deliver a high-quality service to our clients. We now have a requirement on a fixed term contract basis, for an additional Finance Specialist to work primarily within Record to Report. Duties will include , but not are limited to the following: Deliver end-to-end finance processes across relevant service areas (e.g. general ledger reconciliation, invoicing, payments, transactions or reporting), ensuring accuracy and completeness Produce and review financial outputs, such as reconciliations, journals, reports or returns, ensuring they meet defined standards and controls Investigate and resolve complex or non-routine financial issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions Interpret and apply accounting principles, policies and controls to ensure consistent and compliant outcomes Take ownership of escalated queries and issues, ensuring timely resolution and appropriate escalation where required Provide advice, guidance and support to colleagues and stakeholders, including supporting less experienced team members Ensure adherence to SLAs, controls, governance and audit requirements across all finance activities Work collaboratively with internal teams, stakeholders and clients to resolve issues and deliver service outcomes Support audit and assurance activity, providing analysis, documentation and evidence as required Support system changes and improvements, including testing, implementation and service readiness activities To be considered for the role, you will need the following Strong understanding of core finance processes (e.g. general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, transactions, reporting) Knowledge of accounting principles and financial controls Ability to analyse financial data, identify discrepancies and resolve issues Experience using finance systems (e.g. ERP platforms such as Oracle, SAP, Workday or equivalent) Strong analytical and problem-solving capability High level of attention to detail and accuracy As an inclusive and Disability Confident employer, we welcome applications from a diverse range of communities.
