What You Can Expect: As an Associate Director in our Finance Transformation practice, you will be responsible for building and managing a portfolio of client relationships, originating and converting new business opportunities, and overseeing the successful delivery of engagements across the practice. You will operate as a subject matter expert and trusted adviser to C-suite stakeholders and will play a central role in shaping the direction, capability, and market profile of the BPI Finance Transformation team. You will work across a diverse client base spanning PE-backed businesses, mid-market and FTSE-listed corporates, and large organisations in financial services, real estate, energy, and professional services. This is a role for someone who combines deep technical credibili ty in Finance Transformation with the commercial drive and relationship capital to build a sustainable book of business, and the leadership presence to develop a high-performing team beneath them. The work You will originate, design, and oversee the delivery of engagements across a range of Finance Transformation projects, including: Shared services centre (SSC) transitions and outsourcing readiness, including process standardisation, roles and responsibilities design, and go-live support Finance target operating model design, covering people, process, technology, data, and controls across P2P, O2C, and R2R Finance process optimisation and efficiency reviews, including current-state diagnostics, gap analysis, and improvement roadmaps FP&A and performance reporting transformation, including planning process redesign, management information improvement, and budgeting and forecasting optimisation Automation and technology enablement, including RPA business case development, process mining, and ERP-adjacent trans formation AI in Finance assessments and implementation readiness, including use case prioritisation and business case development, finance copilot readiness, agentic automation opportunity assessment, and AI governance and controls design within a finance function context Finance function benchmarking and maturity assessments against industry best practice Post-acquisition finance integration and carve-out support, particularly relevant to our PE-backed client base ​ Key responsibilities: Business development and client relationships Own and actively develop a portfolio of client relationships at C-suite level, including CFOs, CEOs, and Private Equity operating partners, converting relationships into pipeline o pportunities and pipeline opportunities into revenue Lead business development activity across the Finance Transformation practice, including originating opportunities, shaping propositions, leading credentials and pitch meetings, and closing engagements Lead the development of proposals and bid materials, working with Managing Directors and the wider BPI team to present commercially compelling and technically credible responses Develop and maintain a strong professional network in the UK Finance Trans formation market, with a demonstrable track record of converting relationships into commercial outcomes Identify opportunities to expand Protiviti's footprint across existing client portfolios, introducing broader BPI and firm-wide capabilities where relevant Liaise with Protiviti offices globally to leverage existing relationships and ensure a consistent and considered approach to key accounts and market positioning Delivery oversight Hold ultimate accountability for the quality, commercial performance, and client satisfaction of all engagements within your portfolio Oversee Senior Managers and Managers across active engagements, providing direction, challenge, and support to ensure delivery meets the standard expected at a senior Protiviti level Serve as the senior point of escalation for complex, sensitive, or commercially significant client issues, resolving them with confidence and preserving the client relationship Lead or contribute to senior client workshops and steering sessions, providing subject m atter expertise and authoritative guidance on Finance Transformation strategy and design Review and sign off final deliverables across your portfolio, ensuring outputs are accurate , well-structured, and reflect the depth of expertise the practice is known for People and practice Take active accountability for the development of Senior Managers, Managers, and the broader team, creating structured development opportunities, providing regular feedback, and identifying and nurturing high-potential individuals Lead or contribute to recruitment activity to support the growth of the Finance Transformation practice Shape the culture, capability, and direction of the BPI Finance Transformation team in partnership with the Managing Directors Drive the development of Protiviti thought leadership, white papers, and market-facing content in the Finance Transformation space, acting as a visible and credible voice in the market Do Your Talents Include the Following? Significant experience in a Finance Transformation consulting environment, with a demonstrated track record of owning complex, multi-workstream or multi-geography engagements from origination through to delivery An existing and active netw ork in the UK Finance Transformation or broader CFO advisory market that can be mobilised immediately to generate pipeline Proven ability to originate, develop, and close client opportunities independently, with demonstrable commercial outcomes across a range of client types and sectors Deep technical knowledge across multiple finance process areas including P2P, O2C, R2R, and ideally FP&A, with the credibility to advise at C-suite level across each Demonstrated experience leading, managing, and developing high-performing consulting teams including Senior Managers and Managers A strong track record of developing and delivering proposals and bid materials, with evidence of successful conversion Experience managing the commercial performance of a portfolio of engagements, including revenue forecasting, budget management, and margin oversight The presence and credibility to operate as an autonomous, senior representative of the practice in client and market-facing settings without requiring Managing Direct or involvement in every interaction Exposure to AI in Finance projects is advantageous , including use case development and prioritisation, copilot or agentic tool assessment, AI readiness programmes, or AI governance and controls design in a finance context; broader experience with finance automation tools such as RPA and process mining is also relevant Experience with FP&A processes, planning tools, or performance reporting transformation is advantageous but not essential ACA, CIMA, or equivalent professional qualification is advantageous but not essential Exceptional written communication and presentation skills, with a proven ability to influence and advise senior stakeholders ​ Our Workplace and Employment Process Protiviti practices a hybrid wording model, which is a combination of working in person with purpose and working remotely and is primarily dependent upon the needs of our client . The ratio of remote to in-person requirements varies by client, project, team, and other business factors. The minimum requirement would be two days a week in the office or client site. It can sometimes mean more of a full-time presence at our client. This model creates meaningful experiences for our people and our clients while offering a flexible environment. Our people work both in-person in local Protiviti offices and on client sites, which can include local, or UK wide travel based on our projects and client requests and commitments. Remuneration and Benefits Starting salar ies are competitive and are based on a full-time equivalent schedule. Placement in the salary range is dependent upon experience, skills and geographic work location.
