The Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment and enjoys building strong client relationships.

Working remotely, you will manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and timely delivery of accounting services while supporting clients with practical financial advice.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review bookkeeping records using cloud accounting software.
• Prepare year-end accounts in accordance with UK accounting standards.
• Complete and submit VAT returns, corporation tax computations, and other statutory filings.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and financial transactions.
• Process payroll and ensure compliance with HMRC requirements where applicable.
• Assist clients with cash flow management, budgeting, and financial planning.
• Liaise with clients to resolve accounting queries and provide proactive financial advice.
• Ensure all statutory deadlines are met accurately and on time.
• Identify opportunities to improve client processes through cloud accounting technology and automation.
• Collaborate with internal team members to deliver outstanding client service.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Previous experience in an accounting practice or professional services environment.
• Experience using cloud accounting platforms such as Xero, QuickBooks Online, or similar software.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and client relationship management abilities.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines independently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.

Desirable Skills

• Experience working with high-growth businesses or startups.
• Knowledge of Companies House filing requirements.
• Familiarity with accounting automation tools and digital workflows.
• Experience preparing management accounts and financial forecasts.
