Are you looking to apply your experience in financial risk management, internal controls, audit or fraud prevention in a fast-paced international environment? Would you like to use your process knowledge, analytical skills and strong ethical judgement to protect company assets and strengthen the reliability of financial reporting? If so, this could be your opportunity to join Risk and Compliance, part of Arla Corporate Finance, as a Financial Risk & Compliance Manager in our Gdańsk office.
ROLE FOCUS This is not a financial crime compliance role focused on KYC, AML, sanctions or customer due diligence. It focuses on financial risk mitigation in a global production and consumer goods company. This is not a people leader role.
How You Will Make An Impact
Your mission as Financial Risk & Compliance Manager will be to support business stakeholders and management in identifying and mitigating fraud and financial reporting risks across Arla’s global operations. You will help ensure that appropriate processes, procedures and internal controls protect company assets, reduce the risk of fraud, and support complete, accurate and reliable financial reporting. Through risk assessments, controls reviews, remediation follow-up and data-enabled monitoring, you will contribute to Arla’s financial integrity.
Specifically, you will be involved in
- conducting risk assessments across processes, functions and countries, with particular focus on fraud and financial reporting risks
- assessing whether appropriate risk responses and internal controls are incorporated when business processes, systems or operating models are introduced or changed
- developing practical tools and guidance to help functions and geographical areas identify, assess and manage financial risks
- advising business stakeholders on fraud prevention, financial controls and the safeguarding of company assets
- monitoring the implementation and timely completion of agreed corrective actions, procedures and controls
- conducting risk-based reviews of business processes and controls from a fraud and financial reporting perspective
- monitoring minimum financial control requirements and supporting controls automation through transaction monitoring, data analytics and other digital solutions
What Will Make You Successful
You possess a strong ethical compass and a genuine commitment to protecting company assets and supporting reliable financial reporting. You understand how financial risks arise in complex end-to-end business processes and how proportionate internal controls can prevent or detect fraud, error and financial misstatement. You combine financial and process knowledge with strong analytical skills, professional curiosity and the confidence to challenge constructively. You are comfortable working across a large international matrix organisation and engaging with stakeholders in Finance, Operations, Procurement, Sales, IT and other business functions.
Furthermore, you have
- Minimum six years of relevant experience in financial risk management, internal controls, external or internal audit, fraud risk management, accounting or Big Four consulting
- A relevant university degree, for example in finance, accounting, auditing, business administration or risk management
- Professional qualifications in accounting, auditing, fraud examination or risk management are an advantage
- Strong knowledge of accounting, financial reporting, auditing and internal control principles
- Practical experience in assessing fraud and financial reporting risks, reviewing control design and operating effectiveness, and monitoring remediation activities
- The ability to influence stakeholders and support the development of internal control systems in a large matrix organisation, combined with strong analytical skills, attention to detail and professional curiosity
- Interest in data analytics, transaction monitoring and digital controls solutions; knowledge of Arla’s control environment and supporting tools is an advantage
Please note that this role requires you to be in the office 50% of the time + one additional day (monthly).
