As a Fitter Journeyman (HVAC) here at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to ensure optimal performance and safety. You will report directly to our Supervisor and you’ll work out of our Denver, Colorado location on an On-site work schedule. In this role, you will impact the comfort and safety of our clients by ensuring HVAC systems operate efficiently and reliably, supporting Honeywell’s commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. This position requires membership in or eligibility to join the Local 208 Pipe Fitters Union. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems according to specifications and safety standards. Install, fabricate, and service HVAC piping systems , including chilled water, hot water, steam, and refrigerant piping. Perform pipe cutting, threading, brazing, fitting, and fabrication as required for HVAC installations. Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with HVAC equipment and mechanical piping systems to minimize downtime. Read and interpret blueprints, piping drawings, schematics, and sequences of operation to complete installations accurately. Install and connect HVAC equipment including chillers, boilers, air handling units, pumps, cooling towers, and rooftop units . Perform pressure testing, leak testing, equipment connections, and system startup activities. Collaborate with team members, HVAC technicians, electricians, controls technicians, and other trades to complete projects efficiently and on schedule. Maintain a safe and organized work environment while following Honeywell and jobsite safety requirements. Work in accordance with Local 208 Pipe Fitters Union requirements, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and established union work practices. YOU MUST HAVE Minimum of 1 year of experience in HVAC installation, pipe fitting, mechanical construction, or a related field. Proven experience in HVAC system installation, maintenance, and repair. Strong knowledge of HVAC mechanical systems, including ductwork, piping, hydronic systems, valves, fittings, and HVAC equipment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, piping drawings, schematics, and technical manuals. Familiarity with HVAC tools and diagnostic equipment to effectively troubleshoot and resolve issues. Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, lifts, ladders, and other equipment required for HVAC installation and service. Knowledge of OSHA and jobsite safety requirements. WE VALUE Completion of an accredited HVAC apprenticeship or equivalent technical training. Journeyman-level pipe fitting or HVAC experience in commercial or industrial environments. Experience working with chillers, boilers, pumps, cooling towers, AHUs, RTUs, and hydronic HVAC systems. Experience with pipe fabrication, brazing, pressure testing, and system commissioning. Union or commercial/industrial construction experience. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards related to HVAC work.
