Founding AI Engineer, Hedge Fund Agents

We are now looking for a Founding AI Engineer, Hedge Fund Agents who thrives on building production AI agents for the hedge fund industry on Unique’s platform. 5+ years of experience building software or ML/AI products, including 2+ years developing LLM-based systems; experience in financial services (hedge funds, asset management, trading, or fintech) is a plus Production GenAI delivery: demonstrated experience designing, deploying, operating and evaluating LLM-based applications in production environments, including agentic systems with tool calling and orchestration Engineering skills : strong proficiency in Python and modern software engineering practices; experience with low-level LLM experimentation beyond frameworks Communication: exceptional communication and documentation skills; comfortable working with technical and business stakeholders, including senior client representatives, and communicating clearly when navigating ambiguity Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field — or equivalent demonstrated experience shipping production AI systems Right to work: this position requires you to live in/around New York and to have a valid work permit, as well as the willingness to visit clients on-site within the USA Design, build, deploy, and evaluate production AI agents for hedge fund workflows (e.g., investment research, portfolio analysis, risk, and compliance) on top of Unique’s platform Act as the senior technical counterpart to our Hedge Fund Product Expert, translating front-office workflows into reliable agent products Represent Unique as the technical authority in client engagements with hedge funds, supporting the full lifecycle from design partner to production deployment Collaborate closely with our product and engineering teams to feed deployment patterns and client insights back into the core platform 💡 Why Join Unique Competitive Salary 💰 $200-250k DOE Additional guaranteed vacation 🏝️ Enjoy our company-standard 25-day paid vacation policy.
