Studio de la Serna is looking for a highly organised, design-literate Freelance Interior Design Studio Assistant to support our growing interior design and renovation studio in Athens.
This is a broad, hands-on role for someone who can move comfortably between design production, procurement, project coordination and studio administration.
We work primarily with international homeowners, expats, property buyers and investors in Greece. The right person will help us keep projects moving, deliverables organised and the many details behind each project under control.
Key responsibilities
• Procurement research
• Furniture, lighting, material and accessory sourcing
• Researching product alternatives based on budget, availability and lead time
• Requesting quotations and following up with suppliers
• Maintaining procurement schedules and specification sheets
• Tracking orders, deliveries and outstanding items
• Creating and refining mood boards
• Preparing client presentation files
• Producing and updating AutoCAD drawings
• SketchUp modelling and design development
• Preparing floor plans, elevations and basic design documentation
• Organising project folders, drawings, product files and specifications
• Scheduling supplier meetings, site visits, deliveries and installations
• Communicating with suppliers, trades and project partners
• Preparing and maintaining project trackers, budgets and spreadsheets
• Assisting with project administration
• Attending site visits, installations, sourcing appointments and styling days when required
• Translating Creative Director feedback into design and project revisions accurately and efficiently
You should ideally have experience with:
• AutoCAD
• SketchUp
• Interior design documentation
• Furniture and materials sourcing
• Mood boards and presentation design
• Excel / Google Sheets
• Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or similar presentation software
Experience with rendering software is an advantage.
We are looking for someone who:
• Has studied or worked in Interior Design, Architecture or a related field
• Is highly organised and detail-oriented
• Understands dimensions, scale and proportion
• Has a strong contemporary design eye
• Can follow a design brief accurately
• Is comfortable working across several projects at once
• Can communicate professionally with suppliers and trades
• Is confident researching European and international suppliers
• Can work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks
• Is reliable with deadlines and follow-through
• Speaks fluent Greek and has strong written and spoken English
• Is based in Athens and available for in-person project requirements when needed
Experience within an interior design studio, architecture practice, furniture company, construction environment or procurement role is highly desirable. The ability to invoice the studio for your work is non-negotiable.
The role
Freelance / part-time initially, with hours depending on project workload.
The position will include both remote studio work and in-person work in Greece.
There is potential for the role to grow as Studio de la Serna continues to expand.

English is the primary language of the studio, and all internal communication, project documentation and client communication are conducted in English.
Our work spans interior design, renovation, procurement and turnkey project delivery, with a strong focus on making the process of designing and renovating in Greece easier for clients managing properties from abroad.
