Freelance N8N Automation Specialist (AI + Marketing Ops)

Role Description

This is a freelance, remote role for an N8N Automation Specialist supporting our internal marketing operations. You'll take ownership of existing automation workflows and build new ones — connecting our creative, reporting, and marketing tools to reduce manual work across the team. This isn't a from-scratch build: you'll be inheriting live systems, so the ability to quickly understand, document, and improve existing workflows matters as much as building new ones.

What You'll Work On

• Take ownership of and maintain existing n8n workflows connecting Slack, Google Sheets, Notion, GPT, and Shopify/Meta APIs
• Automate recurring reporting (KPI tracking, LP performance, social posting via Metricool/Postbridge)
• Build workflows integrating AI/LLM APIs for content and research pipelines
• Handle API authentication setups (OAuth, custom app configs) and troubleshoot blocked/failed integrations
• Support ad creative and UGC teams with scalable content workflows
• Document workflows clearly as you build — you should be able to hand off or explain any system you own at any time
• Proactively communicate status — daily/async updates, Looms for anything non-trivial; we don't work in silos here

Requirements

• 1+ years hands-on building production n8n workflows (required — please share 1–2 examples or a portfolio link)
• Comfortable with webhooks, API auth (OAuth/API keys), JSON manipulation, error handling
• Experience integrating AI/LLM APIs (OpenAI, Claude, etc.) into workflows
• Strong documentation habits and clear written/verbal communication
• Strong troubleshooting instincts; able to write test cases and self-QA
• Able to work independently while keeping the team looped in — no black-box work
• Comfortable with async collaboration across timezones
