Freelance Simplified Chinese (China) Editors/QAers Join a remote freelance project reviewing short stories in Simplified Chinese. Apply Now Work Location: Remote in China Engagement Model: Freelance; Independent Contractor Estimated Start Date: This project is estimated to start during the week of Sep 07, 2026. Estimated Work Schedule/Workload: Approximately 15 hours weekly for 6 weeks (The actual schedule and total workload may vary depending on feedback and revision cycles) Rate: $20 USD per hour (with an expected hourly throughput of reviewing 2,400 words). DataForce by TransPerfect is seeking several Freelance Editors/QAers to join our Thyme project. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an innovative project; your creative contribution will be used to test and improve Machine Translation technology. We will consider candidates with relevant editing skills or experience. Preference will be given to those with a professional background in editing and/or a graduate or undergraduate degree in literature, journalism, or creative writing. Task Summary: Editors/QAers will review original short stories to ensure accurate spelling, grammar, and guideline compliance. They will also provide constructive feedback to help improve plot, structure, character development, and other storytelling elements. Different rounds of review may be required for each story. Requirements: Residency in China Native-level fluency and excellent reading skills in Simplified Chinese (grammar, spelling) Working proficiency in English required, as all communication and task guidelines will be in English Graduate or undergraduate degree in literature, journalism, or creative writing and/or proven experience in editing, proofreading or a relevant field.
