Role Description The Freelance WordPress Developer will work on a contract basis to design, build, and maintain WordPress-based websites and landing pages for Islamabad.ai. This remote role includes customizing themes and plugins, implementing responsive layouts, and ensuring consistent branding and usability across the site. The developer will optimize site performance and security, troubleshoot technical issues, and collaborate with team members to translate content, design, and functional requirements into clean, maintainable code. Day-to-day activities may include integrating third-party tools, improving SEO-friendly structures, and supporting updates for events, publications, and online education programs.
Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Front-End Development skills, including proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Responsive Web Design.
• Candidates should possess solid Web Design skills, with an eye for user experience, accessibility, and clean, professional layouts.
• Candidates should possess Back-End Web Development capabilities relevant to WordPress, such as PHP, MySQL, and custom theme/plugin development.
• Candidates should possess broad Web Development experience, including WordPress configuration, performance optimization, security best practices, and integration of APIs or third-party services.
• Experience with modern development tools and workflows (version control such as Git, staging environments, basic CI/CD) is beneficial.
• Prior work on educational, nonprofit, or policy-oriented websites is an advantage, especially in global or emerging market contexts.
• Strong communication skills, reliability in meeting deadlines, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote, distributed team are essential.
