Frontend Engineer Intern

We are looking for a Frontend Engineer Intern to support a significant engagement for a Jeddah-based client. This role focuses on building clear, usable tools that help leadership teams document their work and stick to their management rhythms. Working in a fully remote capacity, you will help us turn complex structural habits into simple digital interfaces that support day to day operations.

About the Role
At Olive Tree Consulting, we find that teams often struggle because their systems for tracking decisions are too complicated or nonexistent. This internship exists to help our technical team build the frontend of tools that solve these problems. You will be helping create the literal space where management happens, ensuring that the interface is as plain and functional as the advice we give. Since we operate as a remote firm, you will coordinate with advisors and engineers to move projects forward, ensuring our Jeddah-based client has the tools they need to sustain their growth.

What You Will Do

• Write clean and readable HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to build user interfaces.
• Turn design wireframes into functional web components using modern frameworks.
• Test new features to ensure they work correctly across different browsers and devices.
• Update internal documentation so that our team understands how the code and components work.
• Participate in peer reviews to learn from more experienced engineers and improve code quality.
• Help identify and fix small bugs or visual inconsistencies in our existing tools.
• Collaborate with the advisory team to understand how users interact with our management tools.
• Assist in maintaining a library of reusable UI patterns and styles.

What We Are Looking For

• A basic understanding of web development and how the browser renders pages.
• Familiarity with foundational tools like Git for version control and collaboration.
• A practical approach to solving problems without over-complicating the solution.
• The ability to write clearly and explain your technical choices in plain English.
• A high level of attention to detail when it comes to layout, spacing, and styling.
• Willingness to ask questions and seek clarification when a task is not fully defined.

Helpful Background

• Experience with React or another modern frontend library through university work or personal projects.
• Basic knowledge of how to fetch and display data from an API.
• An understanding of CSS layout techniques like Flexbox or Grid.
• Previous experience working in a remote setting or using digital collaboration tools for group projects.
• A portfolio or public code repository that shows projects you have built recently.
• A general interest in user experience and making interfaces feel intuitive.
