Acelerex is a consulting and software company in the electrical sector. We are a leading provider of cutting-edge technologies and solutions in Analytics, Data Services, and SCADA/EMS, revolutionizing the energy market in the United States, Latin America, and worldwide.


We're looking for a mathematically minded full-stack developer to design and improve our Analytics platform. This platform uses optimization algorithms and scientific software to help our users evaluate revenue generation strategies for renewable energy and storage projects, predict project performance, and optimize network and generator expansion plans.


Job Responsibilities

  • Translate mathematical models (Linear Programming/MILP) and electrical engineering constraints into code for our simulation engines.
  • Develop and refine logic for economic dispatch and unit commitment to model real-world behavior of renewable energy and storage assets.
  • Do more common full-stack engineering work, including coordinating frontend and backend data, organizing the frontend interfaces with charts, electrical generation system diagrams, looking after the application’s security practices, etc.
  • Performance Optimizations: Refine code to handle large datasets and computationally intensive tasks involved in nodal pricing and network modeling.


Requirements:

Experience: 1-4 years in programming, whether that’s in mathematical modeling, web development, data science.


Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering and/or additional qualifications.
  • 1-4 years in programming, whether that’s in mathematical modeling, web development, data science.


Profile: We're looking for a resilient and proactive person, ready to develop and experiment quickly, who brings fresh ideas and follows good development practices.


Required skills:

  • To have used both JavaScript/TypeScript and Python.
  • Experience in a modern frontend framework (Vue.js, React, or similar).
  • Capacity to communicate in English comfortably.
  • Knowledge of PostgreSQL or other SQL databases.


Valued skills:

  • Curiosity and interest in learning about ETL processes
  • Understanding of electrical engineering concepts: Ohm’s law, Power Flow, LMPs, or Energy Markets.
  • Experience using a backend web framework.


Location and Start Date:

This is a remote position in Santiago. Immediate availability is preferred.
