Full Stack Developer

OVERVIEW We are recruiting on behalf of our client, an international vehicle logistics company, for a Full Stack Developer to take full technical ownership of their existing software ecosystem. The company operates several custom-built, interconnected platforms — including accounting software, a CRM, a shipment management system, a client portal, and a quoting platform — all supported by internal and external APIs. This is a hands-on ownership role, not a task-based position. The successful candidate will inherit a live production environment, audit and document the existing codebase and infrastructure, and then maintain, improve, and grow the platforms as the business scales. The role is fully remote and requires alignment with US Eastern Standard Time (EST) business hours KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Take technical ownership of inherited production applications, including reviewing, auditing, and documenting existing code, databases, deployments, and integrations Maintain and improve the company's accounting, CRM, shipment management, quoting, and client-facing platforms Diagnose and resolve production bugs, integration failures, and performance issues in a timely and methodical manner Develop new front-end and back-end features in line with business requirements Build, maintain, and document APIs connecting internal platforms and external services Manage application deployments, environment configurations, domains, SSL certificates, and cloud infrastructure Maintain database integrity, security, backups, and access controls, and implement appropriate monitoring, logging, and error reporting REQUIREMENTS Matric (Grade 12) as a minimum; a National Diploma or relevant degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is advantageous Solid professional experience as a full stack developer, with demonstrated responsibility for live, business-critical software Proven experience working with REST APIs, webhooks, and third-party integrations Experience with MongoDB, including database design, querying, and performance optimization Experience deploying and maintaining applications on cloud-hosting platforms, with a clear understanding of secure credential management and access controls Ability to troubleshoot unfamiliar or under documented codebases independently and take a project from diagnosis through to deployment PREFERRED EXPERIENCE Previous experience with MongoDB Atlas Dedicated, AWS, Render, or Netlify Experience integrating OpenAI or similar AI models into production applications Experience supporting or maintaining accounting, CRM, logistics, or shipment-management software Experience inheriting, modernizing, or documenting a legacy or under documented codebase KEY COMPETENCIES Strong communication skills High attention to detail Strong organizational skills Ability to work independently Professionalism and reliability
