Job Summary: The software development organization is looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer who will embrace an agile development environment and contribute across backend development, frontend applications, system integrations, technical architecture, and production support. We are looking for a candidate who can work in a fast-paced environment, has a strong grasp of modern technologies and a data-first mindset, and is comfortable balancing hands-on development with technical leadership and stakeholder collaboration. The successful candidate will help guide junior developers, modernize legacy applications, support business-critical field tools, and actively participate throughout the software development lifecycle. Collaborate with peer organizations, quality assurance and end users to produce cutting-edge software solutions. Develop best practices to ensure software functionality, usability, reliability, and availability. Create an environment of transparency where facts are always friendly, so that individuals and teams feel free to innovate, experiment, and communicate openly and honestly with all stakeholders. Design, develop, maintain, and enhance backend services, APIs, and business logic using C# and the .NET platform. Meet regularly with junior developers to evaluate technical approaches, establish application architecture, troubleshoot defects, and determine appropriate bug fixes. Partner with business stakeholders and end users to understand future requests, gather requirements, clarify business needs, and translate those needs into practical technical solutions. Provide responsive user and application support for field technicians using the Tech App, Availability Checker, and other operational software tools, including troubleshooting, issue resolution, and escalation when necessary. Perform in-depth peer code reviews to verify functionality, maintainability, security, performance, and compliance with established coding standards and development best practices. Evaluate and modernize legacy code and applications through refactoring, architecture improvements, dependency upgrades, and incremental migration to current development patterns and technologies. Skills: Strong proficiency in C# and .NET backend development, including the design, development, maintenance, and enhancement of web applications, APIs, services, and system integrations; Python FastAPI experience is also beneficial. Experience building responsive web applications using JavaScript/TypeScript with React.js or similar frontend frameworks. Working knowledge of RESTful APIs, system integrations, web services, and microservice-based applications. Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases, including SQL Server and MongoDB, with an understanding of database design and query optimization. Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or AWS) and cloud-based application deployment and support. Experience using Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software development practices in an Agile environment. Experience utilizing AI-assisted development tools (such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude, or similar) to improve productivity, generate code and documentation, assist with testing, troubleshoot issues, and accelerate software development. Understanding of secure coding practices, authentication, authorization, and API security principles. Ability to lead technical discussions with junior developers, explain architectural decisions, provide mentoring, and guide effective troubleshooting and defect resolution. Experience conducting detailed code reviews and enforcing coding standards, design patterns, documentation expectations, testing practices, and source-control discipline. Demonstrated comfort working in established and legacy codebases, with the judgment to modernize systems incrementally while protecting business continuity and production stability. Ability to communicate directly with stakeholders and end users, gather requirements, manage expectations, and convert operational needs into clear technical requirements. Customer-focused troubleshooting skills and the ability to support field-facing production applications in a timely, professional, and practical manner. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality software. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams. Demonstrated willingness to learn new technologies, adapt to changing business needs, and continuously improve technical skills. Education and Experience: 3+ years of SW development experience Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field Prior professional experience within the Internet Service Provider (ISP) or telecommunications industry is strongly preferred. Experience building software from the ground-up, creating standards, guidelines, and development methods. Experience and understanding of enterprise level agile processes. Experience in Jira, building software using Scrum. Experience mentoring junior developers, leading architecture and code-quality discussions, and supporting the modernization of legacy software systems. Job Classification: Software Development Exempt Work Environment/Hazards: Working conditions primarily inside an office environment The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. High level of interaction with external/internal clients Occasionally at data center locations exposed to loud data center conditions. Occasionally on site outdoors in the elements Physical Demands: Stationary position for 8-10 hours a day Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers. Visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity are necessary to operate a computer keyboard and basic office equipment. To perform this job successfully, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position. Daily movements include sitting, standing, operating computers and other office equipment and moving about the office. The employee must be able to communicate via email and verbally via telephone.
