Full Description

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Full Stack Engineer to join our growing engineering team at Hiredbuddy. As an Entry Level Full Stack Engineer, you will have the unique opportunity to work on both frontend and backend components of our platform, gaining hands-on experience with modern technologies and best practices. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy scalable features that directly impact our users' success.

In this role, you will be responsible for building responsive user interfaces using React and Redux, as well as developing robust RESTful APIs using Node.js and Express. You will work with both SQL and NoSQL databases, such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB, to manage and query data efficiently. You will also participate in code reviews, write unit and integration tests, and contribute to improving our CI/CD pipeline.

You will have the chance to work on real-world projects from day one, including feature development, bug fixes, and performance optimizations.

Our tech stack includes React, Redux, Node.js, Express, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Docker, and AWS. We also use Git for version control and Jira for project management. You will be expected to write clean, maintainable code and follow coding standards. You should be comfortable working in an agile environment, attending daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

We are a fully remote team, so strong communication skills and self-discipline are essential. You will use tools like Slack, Zoom, and GitHub to collaborate with your teammates across different time zones. To succeed in this role, you should have a foundational understanding of web development, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. You should be familiar with at least one frontend framework (React preferred) and have some experience with backend development. A basic understanding of database queries and API design is also necessary. While we don't require prior professional experience, any personal projects, internships, or bootcamp projects are a big plus.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) 0-2 years of experience in web development (internships and personal projects count) Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS Experience with React and Redux (or similar frontend framework) Basic knowledge of Node.js and Express Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB) Understanding of RESTful API design and HTTP methods Knowledge of Git and version control workflows Ability to write clean, readable code Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote environment Eagerness to learn new technologies and best practices Nice to have: experience with Docker, AWS, or TypeScript
