Nexus Nord LLC is a pre-seed fintech startup building bank-partner student lending infrastructure for alternative education providers bootcamps, vocational schools, and career training programs across the US. We are not a lender we are the infrastructure layer that connects accredited bank partners to underserved alternative education borrowers.

We are pre-seed, moving fast, and looking for a founding engineer who wants to build something that matters in fintech.

The Role

You will be the second full-time engineer, working directly with our Co-Founder/COO (who built the platform). You will own the product-facing infrastructure: school onboarding flows, loan application UX, bank data integrations, admin dashboards, and API layer. This is a hands-on, full-ownership role no bureaucracy, no PM-assigned tickets, no hand-holding.

If you have built production-grade fintech products and want to be part of a founding team at the ground level, this is the role.

What You Will Build

• School onboarding portal multi-step wizard for alternative education providers to apply as lending partners

• Student loan application flow end-to-end borrower intake, document upload, and underwriting submission

• Bank data integration layer API connectors to bank partner systems and underwriting data pipes

• Admin dashboard loan pipeline management, school performance tracking, cohort repayment views

• Webhook and event system real-time loan status updates, notification triggers, compliance logging

Tech Stack

You must be strong across this stack it is what product runs on:

• Frontend: React.js, Tailwind CSS, component-driven UI

• Backend: Python (FastAPI or Flask), REST API design

• Database: Supabase (PostgreSQL), schema design, row-level security policies

• Deployment: Vercel (frontend), cloud-hosted backend

• Integrations: Third-party APIs (Plaid-type connectors, bank APIs, document services)

• AI/LLM: Claude API or OpenAI API integration experience is a strong plus

Required Background

Non-negotiable:

• 3-6 years of full-stack development experience in production environments

• At least 1-2 years in fintech, lending, NBFC, payments, or banking technology

• Strong React and Python backend skills both sides, not just one

• Experience with form-heavy, data-sensitive applications (KYC, loan origination, onboarding flows)

• REST API design and third-party integration experience

• Supabase or PostgreSQL database design and query optimization

• Deployed and maintained production systems not just MVPs

Strongly preferred:

• Experience with loan origination systems (LOS), credit decisioning platforms, or underwriting workflows

• Familiarity with US lending compliance concepts (TILA, ECOA, fair lending)

• LLM API integration (Claude, OpenAI, Gemini) for AI-powered product features

• Startup or early-stage company experience you know what it means to ship without a QA team
